OK, this army is finished now, only things remaining are the titan and the chapter emblems on most of the vehicles (and if Im inspired, the infantry!). The paint job is of course extremly simple, but I think it works. They look pretty evil |

Very cool. All you need now are some Petit crabe de fer en colère... I mean Defilers and your all set for a raid. |

Actually they have e very specific purpose: to participate in marine vs marine games, against an identical ultramarine army. The idea I have is to use em to try out various rules sets, to test which one I like best! [Defilers would be cool though... and someday I might just expand these guys to make a proper chaos army...] |

HUrrah! More armies being finished; though i think it is a bit odd to see two identical armies in different colours! Good idea for playtesting though. PS: I also like that all those old models are being reused and recycled |

Yeah well in fact Im such a 1st/2d ed freak that I prefer these models over the new ones, although some of the new stuff is nice also. The Sons assault marines for instance I bought off ebay. They came VERY well glued to new style rectangular bases. I basically had to carve each single marine off the base with a knife, and cut my thumb a number of times in the process. So in fact Im not just recycling, Im more of a re-creator... |

Ah, you sound like a man who could use a squad or two of old Vindicators and some old SM era brick Thunderhawks (they're not very nice looking) to compliment your armies Order of Battle... wow and funny thing this, It appears that I have just such a thing spare... (2x Squadrons of old Vindicators and 2x Brick Thunderhawks) what are the odds eh? PM me if your interested. |

Hmmm thats a very interesting offer. I already have 3 old thunderhawks for my ultramarines, and to be honest, I probably wont use them for games (Ill probably not use any flyers at all - when I got out of playing epic all those years ago, flyers were a novelty and I never felt it was a very good addition to the game). But I might be interested anyway, although not quite at this particular moment (have so many more important things to paint, so they wouldnt be a top prio) Are the vindicators the very oldest ones (mk1, according to netepic hardware book), or the later brick-style ones (mk2)? I prefer the mk1s, dont like the mk2s much, but kinda like the mk3s, but not the mk4s. |
