I have a few of the old Space Marine Era Squiggoth models and I'm having a bit of a dilemma about what to do with them.  They could proxy as Battlewagons/Gunwagons for my Snakebites, but that still seems a bit of a stretch.

By my estimation, these old beasts are horribly undersized compared to the newer versions, but I'd still like to include them in my army somehow.

Any ideas? :sulk:

Just use them as squiggoths would be my advice, yes they are smaller but not that bad are they??

Thinking of ancient armies, the elephants would vary in size a fair bit.

Use them as squiggoths - especially as the new ones are £11.75 each

Baby or adolescent squiggoths. Not as well trained yet but cheaper and a bit unpredictable. Not able to carry as much ordinance either.

It is a pretty big scale difference, but I use them as Squiggoths anyway.

Past that, there's not much in the way of options.  Using them as Boarz seems a bit wonky, as does using them for Junkatrukks.

Back in the Feral playtests, there were lesser and greater squiggoths.  You could always test them with your own "lesser squiggoth" stats.  Maybe something like...

LV, 20cm, 5+RA, 4+CC, 5+FF
2x Twin Big Shoota
Teeth and Claws, (base contact), Assault Weapon, +1EA, MW
Reinforced armor, Transport 2

That would be similar to a Battlewagon in transport capacity and firepower, slower but tougher and better in CC.  Maybe start at 35 points to test?

I use them in different SnakeBitz/Feral Ork Warbandz ... different breeding techniques, gene pools etc.  So some Warbands Squiggoths are bigger than others ... :)  So Neal's solution also seems viable !  :D

Thanks for the responses guys. :))

I think I'll just use them as Squiggoths although giving the Lesser Squiggoth rules a go is tempting as well.  I can upgun the howdahs a bit and stick them on a bigger base.
