Ahhh the Leviathan... Well it did turn out pretty well all things considered. In fact while working on it I realized its basically rather an ugly mini to begin with, especially if compared to the Baneblades, Shadowswords and Leman Russ. Part of the problem is that most of the IG army has a sort of "realistic" feel to it - most minis look kinda like modern (ww1/ww2) vehicles. The Leviathan stands out quite obviously in that its totally unrealistic.

But its painted and Im fairly happy with it, and probably wont repaint it anytime soon. Its hardly the most important part of the army anyway.

Next up will be an artillery Co, and after that, infantry...

Well Im now starting work on my infantry. And heres where IG armies become huge projects: I need to paint at least 50 stands, and they all have hands and faces, weapons and so on!

Is that a Titan Legions era Leman Russ?

Having done two guard companies so far, I'd recommend taking a break between each company or you will get burned out.

Malakai: Its a mark I.

The mark II was the one produced at the time Titan Legions was current, I think.

Vaaish: Im sure thats right. I reckon Ill do one or two stands at a time, and let it take its time. Im in no hurry.

When painting these big companies and find it best to paint platoons up one at a time. Good music or movie on in the background also helps.

Yeah music has always been important, although I never quite went hardcore with Boltthrowers "Eye of Terror"-record (On GWs own label...) - death metal never worked for me.

Right now Im listening to old shows of BBC:s "In Our Time" when painting. Many people probably find it a rather boring program, but I love it. I am an historian after all :-) BBC by the way produces the best radio in the world, by far.

Yes, that is a Mk.1 Russ from the SM1 era. The Mk.2 Russ came out with SM2. The Mk.3 with TL. And the Mk.4 with E40K. Which is also basically the E:A Russ ...  Nice work BTW !  :agree:

Thanks L4!

Malakai: GW did indeed have a record label, it was called Warhammer records. And the album wasnt called "Eye of Terror", it was actually "Realm of Chaos" (my mistake), it came out in 89-90 somewhere.

Thats the advantage of being "old Skool" ... :D  Left to Right - Mk.1, Mk.2, Mk.3(with stowage, limited release), Mk.4(one of the chassis,hull & turret options)& Mk.4 Vanq. + the F/W versions ...  8v)

Well you know which one I prefer by now!

Its great fun painting the IG infantry, but takes a lot of time. I did finish a commissar stand (I have three commissars in total, and of course various other command stands):

They did indeed. I have both albums released by them!

Bolthrower is good Death Metal, but a bit heavy for most. I have this on CD somewhere. They are an echo of when GW stores used to be run by mettaller, they had no uniform so jeans and leather jackets was standard and the stores were dark and loud with music, and friendly. Cool times.

The other band was D-Rok, who were a new band signed to the GW label.
