My 'What's next for Otterman' thread showed my adaptation of CELS' Anargo Manticore design to MoI.

With my recent discovery that Acu-Casts rates go down when I bundle lots of stuff together, it became feasible for me to print this design.

That made me realize I could make a few improvements before it meets the printer.

First, I made the payload an interchangable module. Should I make a deathstrike version (single fat missile) as well?

And some vents to the backside. These are a little bigger than the side vents on the Bison, so I know they will print OK.

Warheads! Now you're talkin'.

These are awesomeness to the power of infinity. I now have to conspire a way of obtaining these for various cool modifications. I have like twelve new and old manticores but would use these for new GW Warlords instead of dumb shoulder lasers... among other projects too. (City/Wall defences etc and so on...) Sorry, am I salivating too much?..  :wow:

As an ASP member nothing would make me happier than seeing some CELS pattern manticores, well maybe a CELS pattern Warlord... hmm... anyway these look great, I'd definitely have at least a battery of them. :)

I have finalized the design for printing. There's nothing really to show, I just chamfered some edges so that the missile pod can be assembled in a tilted position, or if you cut off the hydraulic lifts, in a level position.

Interesting, but somehow the deathstrike would seem a little small in a box. I kind of like the idea of something more akin to a SCUD launcher for those than a MRLS feel but if doesn't cost extra, the might as well.

Very cool indeed. So flattering when people show an interest in my designs.

As for the Death Strike variant, I think it's a great idea, but I'm also a bit concerned about the proportions. I'm happy that it wouldn't be as ridiculously oversized as the GW Death Strike missile (which looks like it's part of some lunar landing mission), but with such a big diameter, I wonder if your version is a bit... well, chubby. I'd be happy to be mistaken though.

Not necessarily "chubby" but I have to admit I would be looking to use these on larger platforms than a manticore so perhaps chubby works for me.

Huh. Real weapons systems are indeed festooned with access hatches. Guess I don't need to feel so bad about gubbining all of my designs up.

I chubberized the single missile version to supply good painting surface. If the real thing doesn't look good, I'll back over it with my Volvo.
