He's back! :) Lovely result, and the metals look spot on. What's your method for the basing (including underlying rock)

the basing here is super simple. I undercoated everything with Vallejo Hull Red, then made a wash with Secret Weapon Terra Cotta pigment over everything. Then brushed on some of their Rust Red pigment here or there. Last step was to use a damp brush to pull pigment off the top of the gravel areas and touch up with a light drybrush of Hull Red.

I love your more recent basing style! How do you fix the pigment? is it in the wash stage?

Thanks! The wash is just mixing the pigment with alcohol. I've found it dries pretty durably but I eventually put a dulcoat layer on it to hold. These won't get that since they are display

Thanks - I've been toying with ways to fix the pigment that don't involve me varnishing. I tried a mix of binder, alcohol and the pigment, and that seems to do the trick :)

So I'm not dead. It's been a really really long time. Like since before COVID hit that I've posted anything. I actually started these right before the pandemic and ended up losing all interest in painting for a long time, but I finally finished these guys making them the last piece of my Knightworld force. Hope you enjoy!

Wonderful work! And those Junos are really lovely - I'd love to post them on the Onslaught Facebook page if you'd allow it!
