They still look rockin' but I prefer your earlier "servitors on ice" version"
It gives the look that they have had most of their blood modifies with oil and coolant.

Thanks, I think that I should have gone with a more redish metal to keep the blue skin. I've just been too enamored by the more blue metals recently that I didn't think it through enough so the skin needed to change to more pink/gray. Anyway it's up on CMON now so lets see how the chips fall.

Mate,

They look great, I am with Jim, I liked them as is. I have voted, hope you hit the target number soon. Excellent work as usual.

Cheers
Aaron

Thanks, I'm hoping I'll hit 50 soon, but it's looking more likely that the votes will dry up before I get much past the 41 they are at right now. :( In other news, Blood Ravens Infantry should be appearing tomorrow... I think. If you get a chance, what were you planning to put on each stand?

I've only got 3 heavy weapons troopers as well as three sergeants. One stand seems to be a SC stand with a libby, standard bearer, captain, and two termies. I think one gets an apothecary along with the sergeant and one gets a techmarine with the sergeant. but I'd like to make sure before I glue them in place.

And I'm back with more epic stuff rather than 40k. This time it's the SC tactical formation for the Blood Ravens. Unfortunately, it ended up as the test detachment so there are some rough edges. I guess it was a bit hopeful that I could convert the procedures for the vehicles directly to the infantry. Anyway, the next detachment should end up better than these. These are a tad purple again because of the black undercoat although I did hit them with a spot of white primer to take the edge off of it. I also could have used a bit more time thinking through the banners rather than just going on the fly.

If this is a rush job and not thought out I would be shamed by your more methodical processes.

They are amazing

Thanks :) well the banner was the rushed part. It started out with "oh cool, I've got enough control to do swirls at this scale" and kind of went down from there. The rest was fairly straightforward but I need a few tweaks to the process to get things a bit crisper. After I finish out the two mechs I'm working up I'll move on to the devastators to give Cal something he can use on the field :)

Vaaish- echo what others have said- these look great and don't look like a rushed job at all.

Hot damn those marines look good. Again I am in awe of the painting skills shown on this site.

Great job - we all look forward to more updates

Well I'm back with what will be the first of quite a few rapid updates if the next week goes as planned. I'd like to finish up 4 dreadnoughts, 8 rhinos, and another 8 stands of infantry if I can before the new year before moving on to some more battletech and 40k.

Anyway, here's the second blood ravens tactical detachment. I am fairly pleased with these outside of my constant problem with contrast. I am how ever about to beat the tar out of something because I can NEVER get my dull varnish to actually, oh, I don't know, BE MATTE. Doesn't matter the temperature, humidity, brand, or time of day the stuff refuses to actually make what I spray it on matte. Makes me want to chuck the can into a bonfire for the heck of it. Anyway, I'm going to give it another go tomorrow and perhaps the fates will align and I'll actually get rid of the glossy finish.

simply stunning - look so good. if it helps i find that testors Dullcote gives a great matt finish, but I suspect that you may have tried that brand already.
