Hi again, Ive been painting some eldar vehicles, but I have a problem: are there any bases that work for the falcons? I think the "monster-bases" work well for the tempest, but its too big for the falcon obviously... Any one of you guys use bases for falcons at all? I have the same problem with the ork battlewagons. Maybe its best to leave them with no bases, but when the rest of your whole army has bases, they sort of stand out. Any ideas? |

What about Warmaster bases? They're the right height when compared to epic infantry bases. That's what I use, and larger bases I make out of plastic card. Or you could try round bases made from coins (or washers) which would give some nice extra weight to the plastic figures. |

As a sugestion you could also try the Flames of War bases. They come in 3 diffrent sizes and there are pre-cut magnets available for them as well (for the tool-box O figs approach). |

I based hordes of grav-tanks for Dirtside, using upside down thumb tacks glued to steel washers. Then I drilled a small hole in the underside of the tank, put a small drop of glue on the point of the tack, and pushed it on in. Flock the base and voila -- floating grav tank. I'll see if I can get my digicam to cooperate long enough to post a pic or two. |

You have to raise them a little for an excellent skimmer look! ![]() |

Right now I'm leaning towards the swedish 5-kronor-coins as bases for the falcons. It's just that it's a bit expensive (almost one dollar coins)! |

Quote: (Brother-Captain Parzval @ 23 Sep. 2008, 15:53 ) Right now I'm leaning towards the swedish 5-kronor-coins as bases for the falcons. It's just that it's a bit expensive (almost one dollar coins)! Fender Washers... Fender Washers. $.07 apiece or so. And they're ferrous, unlike Kroners. At $1 apiece, you could get washers shipped from the US. |

Try fender washers. They tend to be dirt cheap. |

Hmm seems like a good option... I think I'll take a look next time I'm at one of the budget autopartsstores. Thanks for all your tips! And I'm gonna think of a goo way to raise them up a bit. It will probably make quite a difference, even with only a slight raise, so that too is a good tip. |
