One example is in Flight of the Eisenstein (which would explain why you haven't seen it), where a landing Stormbird is described like this: "The ship settled and folded its raptor wings to its fuselage."(P162). I think there may well be one or to other mentions as well. There are one or two useful Stormbird titbits in FotE and Fulgrim, so keep an eye out for them when you get to those books...

Indeed but I'd rather see minis that can be used in existing armies

If all goes well with a Heresy supplement then the stormbird would be full of win and awesomness  :D

Bah !  Stormbird, Schmormbird  :;): ... it's revisionist history ! Orwellian New-Speak ! :blues: I started to buy Epic since SM1/1990.  The only vehicles and units we use for battles in the Heresy are what were released or mentioned in the fluff before SM2 ...  But given the interested in The Horus Heresy v.2/Revisionist/New-speak ... You may consider the Stormbird, Reaver  ...  The (revisionist) minions have spoken ...     ADWWFY !

Stormbird is new to me but I have not been following the Horus Heresy books. The Cathedral style CI sounded cool but I voted for Ordinatus. The old models are so expensive it would be nice to have a cheaper proxy.

Cheers

James

Seems most people want a Stormbird  - the only problem is I reckon everyone has a different picture in their heads of what it should look like! I can see me ending up pleasing no-one...

Regards,
Reaver

I would love to see and somehow come to own a stormbird (or 3).

I have always invisioned them as having large, true aircraft wings, unlike the thunderhawks winglets, and that they streched from front to back of the afusalare, unlike most modern big planes.

Next step - make a few sketches and let people vote on them, or offer alternatives.

I can't get the picture of Hawks ship from Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century out of my mind!  :oo:  Ah, the Eighties... magic...

The issue with the Stormbird is that a person could use almost any fig for it since no-one knows what it looks like.

There were a lot of interesting, existing, figs that were posted here that people could use as a Stormbird.

There is *nothing* anyone could use as a proxy for a giant cathedral shaped CI :-)

Not so.

You could tape a brick to a roller skate and stick a pans pipe to the back. Tah-da! Job done.

Cheers,
