[CODE] The Emperor's Children - in Tactical Heresy colors. Base coated Polly's Israeli Early Desert Tan(IIRC used until the '50?), washed Calthan Brown, then a wash of Badger Grimy Black & G/W Purple ink mix ... then dry brushed the same Israeli Tan ...  Remember the Brits used tan and purple camo in the Sudan before WWII. Yorkie and I had a discussion about it.  So this is close ... without painting my SMs in non-tactical "purple" ! :tongue:

[CODE]  BN Cdr & Staff ... In WWII many US Aircraft fade tan by the desert sun turned to what was refered to as "Desert Pink" ...

Very nice stuff L4, great colours, good banners/markings :agree:
my one complaint though is the mold lines, get rid of those (though not on this batch as their already painted)and all is well  :cool:

These, like other tactical colored marines, are great! I am from "they shall not know camo either fear"-school when it comes to Astartes, but these are great! Extremely fine paintjob.

Very kewl mate - love the tactical yet codex conforming paint scheme!
Remember too that Mountbatten's detsroyer, HMS KELLY, was painted in a tactical pink colour to help disguise it during thefavoured axis aerial attack times in the Med - Dawn and Dusk!  8v)

Emperors Children, only attack at dusk.... as they're hedonists a dawn start is way too much to expect  :laugh:

Really? She was here in Malta at some time during the War. Never knew that.

Thanks BoyZ for all the comments ! :D  I forgot about the HMS Kelly, Tas !  So again we see tactical "pink" in service. :yes:    Good tactic, "J" ... Those Emperor's Children are party animals - attack at dusk and party all night ! :laugh:  Being from Malta, Van, I figure you'd like the desert camo !   Now I'm working on the last of my Traitor SMs - Sons of Horus. Still trying to get black to work for me ! :oops:   Like I said, I'm painting my Traitor SMs for the Heresy. SM2 on was after the Heresy and Traitor was just Chaos.  So I have another Army - "Traitor SMs" as well as Chao SMs ... :sus:

Thanks Centurion ! I've completed the Thousand Sons, Night Lords, World Eaters, and now the Emperor's Children and posted pics here of all of them. I'm working on my last Traitor Legion, the Sons of Horus.  I've completed the Loyalist Ultra Marines, Salamanders and Imperial Fists and posted those pics here also.  Then I'll do Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves and a small unit of Legion of the Damned. As well as a few Rgt Cmd detachments and Inquisitor Teams. And lastly my F/W Grey Knights.   And that should complete my SMs.  Then IG, Squats, etc., etc. ...   :D
