I was just wondering what some inventive people have done do differentiate their Supreme Commanders from their Captains. I don't know if I'm going to get back into Epic, but I definately will paint up a small force of Space Marines. So I'm looking for some inspiration and motivation.

I use a Standard Bearer added to the stand. It's the easiest to do and pretty recognizable on the table top.

Just starting up a crimson fists marine army and one of my commanders for the 1st Company is a captain with thunder hammer and stormshield...will get some pictures up if i can...
plasticard is great for this sort of stuff; SOMEONE out there has been doing some excellent commander/character conversions for an Iron Guard chaos army; take a look in the painting forums
