I do have a secret dream that someday some undetermined 6mm manufacturer might make a really cool bomber. Something in between a B-25, B-26, B-29 (that's 4 engines, WMN! ![]() ![]() These here are the words of Warmaster Nice. He's a good chap, so let's make him happy. Introducing something I'd asked the boss permission for ages ago but only got round to it now: 6-flycomp 2008 6 as in 6mm, fly as in light bomber, comp as in competition. Without a prize, unless there is some generous person out there willing to donate a donation for a prize. ![]() ![]() And who knows, maybe one of our brave model manufacturers would be bold enough and impressed enough to produce said model - THEN you'd really have something to brag about. The guidelines: Build a model in 6mm scale of a light bomber which more or less fits the description in the quotation. At any rate, it should have around 2 engines and ideally, but not necessarily, wings. Post one pic in the thread which will be set up soon, and Bob's your uncle. The hard and fast rules: 1 - the model has to be your work; it can be scratchbuilt, heavily converted or sculpted, but it must not be too similar to an existing design e.g. using a Marauder (historical or GW) fuselage and a new set of wings is still too close to said Marauder. The model should clearly be a new design and should have 2 or 3 engines (no more, no less). 2 - the photo size is limited by the usual upper limit allowed by Tacwar. The model MUST BE UNPAINTED OR UNDERCOATED ONLY! This is a modelling not a painting competition. 3 - The design should be as race-neutral as possible, that is, it should ideally not be an obviously Orky or Kraytonian or Guild or Centaur or whatever design. 4 - the model has to be in 6mm scale and reasonably sized to present a medium bomber aircraft. 5 - closing date for posting: noon of the 30th September 2008. 6 - the winner will be chosen by a voting open to forum members. I expect amendments to the rules will have to be added progressively, but this should more or less cover it. Any takers? ![]() |
