Thank you :)

I'm going for some sort of mashup between a B-25, B-26, Ju-87 and an A-10.

Here's an updated pic. I suppose I should move these to the sculpting section though...

I'd ditch the landing gear myself

Tinkering with some Squat tank designs. The question is how much filigree ornament to add to give the proper "squattish" feel. overall I am looking for something that looks heavily armored with a hint of Imperial tech, but with some distinct dwarfish flavor. However I'd try to avoid adding bearded faces (ancestors) and such, and keep ornaments to patterns.

One option is to go for a simple basic tank, where people can paint any ornament on if they like (basically like most of the old squat vehicles were done)

The second option is some subtle ornaments that can be painted if one chooses or kept simple for a more "military" look.

And thirdly it is of course possible to go all in with some celtic/nordic ornaments.

Opinions?

I'd suggest interlocking chains or other 'woven' or geometric patterns, such as Celtic knot-like edges and trims. Intricacy is good, decoration is good, but you're spot on with generally avoiding beards and ancestor faces and such.

Great tank! Very interesting development here. I generally vote no to embellishments of any kind. This is because I am an old fart (tm) and in the old old grim dark future coolness was mostly not based on how many skulls/beards/teef a model had. Some models and pieces look like they have had a serious incident involving a teeny goth accessory shop, a barrel of glue and poor brakes. Give it a district design such as you have in fact already managed to accomplish and leave it at that. Less is more.

I like this one with or without the decoration but the decoration you have done does give it a squat feel/look to it.

Like the little assault ramp to.

Must admit I'm on the less is more regarding Celtic stuff - 2nd and 4th one for me. But the overall tank design is very cool! Wondering if their might be a potential stormlord proxy in there...

I actually like those chained circles, though it's fine without them too. The rivets work well.

I'm not sure what to think about the turret. On the one hand, they don't need much headroom. On the other, it looks a bit too sleek for Squats and for the 40k universe in general.

Heya WM, did you decide to buy Rhino, or go MoI? Or neither?

Hi mate

I'm leaning towards Rhino, although I still haven't quite decided. Overall I like Rhino better, but I am still struggeling a to figure out a good method to do stuff like panel lines on irregular and/or curved surfaces. In time I probably need to combine it with a program that handles meshes better too.

Thanks to the deadline extension, I had a chance to snap some proper daylight photos for the Bubonis entry in the EpiComp. For completeness, here's the original entry photo, showing the side views of the model as well. The colors are a bit washed out due to the combination of using flash and a yellow lightbulb. But you get the general idea...

A few shots of the Slaanesh titan from different angles. Not the best picture quality either I'm afraid, but it does give a better impression of the overall shape.
