Hello All, (beware this might ramble)

With the christmas holidays on the horizon, I am about to undertake a new project.

Death Korp of Kreig.

I have Imperial Armour Volume 5, Siege of Vraks and 4 boxes of Siegemaster infantry, and several (6) of Reaver?s 'Rogal Dorn' Heavy Tanks.

I also have found a new warmaster model.

I have also rustled up a number of early Basilisks and Bombards (the archaic looking ones), plus I await a number of WWI Heavy Mortars/Siege Guns from Irregular Miniatures, but delivery times are uncertian this time of year.

In a slight twist to the standard siegmaster (hereafter referred to as DKK (Death Korp of Kreig)) basing,  I intend to chop the rapier/thudd gun models from their stands and base them and one gunner on 1/2 of the infantry stands, freeing up around 10 DKK riflemen models from each 'company', with enough to form the core of new companies as needed.

This should start me off with the following list before I make any major decisions regarding unit upgrades and what not,

1 DKK Regimental HQ 150 points
(One Supreme Command, plus Nine Siege Infantry units)

DKK Infantry Company 200 Points
(One Imperial Guard Command, plus Nine Siege Infantry units) 125 Points
Plus Siege Infantry Platoon +75 points
(Six Siege Infantry Units)

DKK Infantry Company 200 Points
(One Imperial Guard Command, plus Nine Siege Infantry units) 125 Points
Plus Siege Infantry Platoon +75 points

Now all off the above is a mere 550 points to start with.

I'll be spending most of my GW gift vouchers (my family are WELL trained, get me smellies or socks and I buy you similar useless gifts back, works a treat) on Rough Riders (seem essential to DKK) and the consensus of your suggestions (tempered by my reading of IA5).

Could I trouble you for your thoughts/opinions/ruminations or even insults if I may?

Cheers,

Alan.

I'm insulted that you don't want to use the Death Korps army list in my .sig! :D

However as you're going with the Barran armylist, I'd recommend using the updated points costs / rules found in this thread: CLICK ME

Incidentally, if your after rough riders I have a pile (~ 40 or so) of the plastic RR that you could have.  They were for my planned DKOK, but then they morphed into a heavily mechanised soviet themed army   (yes i will be using the minervan list E&C :p)

Anyway, pm me if your interested and i can get you them for after christmas :)

E&C I have reviewed your list, and in comparison to IA5, it's INFINITELY more accurate than the Baran cr@p provided.

I am using the Macharius formations and what not, but too play  more peeps I have to keep it as close to 'official lists' as possible, as some people get stroppy (no names, they read my posts), when I use 'unnoficial lists', these people are GW 40K players who will not deviate from the true word.

Sad, but true.

Also, Jok3r, the old plastic 'Non-Attilian' RR's, I'd be interested in buying them from you, but are these the same as the 'modern steel legion' RR's?

The new ones appear to have Gas Masks for the riders and suchlike, an the old plastic were open faced?

I know this must seem like pedantic nonsense, but when I do these armies, I like to get them right!

Well I hope to stage a Siege verse krieg battle at some point with E&C, perhaps lots of photos and a bat rep will change their mind!

I was expecting red, green, white, and/or gold uniforms, with possibly some tinsel.
