I have finally finished painting them. My very first Epic guardsmen. 6 stands of basic footsloggers in winter theme. They are DRM Light infantry mounted on 4cm x 1cm plasticard strips with thickness of 1mm. I left those metal cylinders on them on purpose of hiding them with putty-snow. Bad mistake. Next time I'll either cut/file them off, or make deeper snow banks to the bases. I also made a cliff on one base from plasticard and modelling putty. From the pictures I see that some paints, especially white and flesh were too thick, I'll thin them for my next 6 stands. I like these, but the next ones will be better. Comments and questions are welcome.

they look great, the DRM light infantry work very well as Imperial guardsmen.

Rather than cutting off the circles put a thin smear of green stuff o the plasticard and embeed the guard into it.

Very nice guard BTW.  Though I would hate to play with them on a winter board.  I would forget to move entire companies.

Thanks for the comments. Here's some update, 6 more stands for my 1st Company. These were assembled at the same time with the previous guardsmen, so the snow banks are too shallow,  I will fix that for next stands. Thinning down the 2nd layer of flesh really helped, no more obscured detail, but still some flesh coloured eyes... Thinning the white resulted in much smoother surface, but I now have to give a second layer to the bases sometimes.



And here is the company as it is now. I will add some fire support soon. I just noticed that my plans for infantry have a small flaw. The Officers and Commissars... GW Commissars would be good, but where do I get good commanders for DRM infantry?

Now that you mention it :D Not that I think having a Spaceballs army in 6mm would be a bad thing. Lots of Star Wars and stuff so why not :;):


Seriously though: Nice figs. I need to paint up some Valhallans for my own ww2 Soviet themed guard army so these will definitely serve as a source of inspiration :;):
