So, I live near a beach.
I was there this weekend, and it was really windy.
So windy, in fact, that the entire beach had been blown clean of footprints. ?While lying on the sand, I realized that, at ground level, it looked a lot like North Africa, or some such desert. ?I couldn't resist.
Out came the leman russes and shadowswords, and the trusty digital camera. ?
I didn't have much time, but managed to snap a few decent pics. I am working with a program called GIMP to make them more believeable as photos. As you can see from the raw shots, it looks too clean and toy-like (plus you can see individual grains of sand at this scale).

Any tips or input is welcome. ?Perhaps with some good GIMP work, these (or others, if I get another chance) could work in the Raiders supplement being discussed.

Beautiful! I think that could be really interesting for the Epic:Raiders codex

Good stuff. Love the effect.

Can I ask you where you got the terrain piece from?
Thanks.   Steve.

The zigguarat is a perfect backdrop. Well spotted.

The pyramid is from Mexico. It was a gift.

I suggest throwing a little distance-blur on the background objects, and perhaps a little atmospheric haze too.
