I paint a lot of 6mm historical miniatures for people, is there a market for painting GW Epic miniatures?

Your opinions please?

I would pay to have my infantry painted, depending on the cost and, more importantly, the availability of spare cash.

Well i charge 20p for a 6mm Napoleonic miniature.

painting service

My research shows that this price is very reasonable for historical miniatures.
I have no frame of reference for Epic though to be honest.
How does it seem to you?

I voted 'other', as I've been paid to paint other people's miniatures on occasion... not Epic though. :)

Hehe. Thanks Tom.

I voted "Depends on the cost".

Personally I have to feel motivated to paint a particular unit in order to enjoy it. Rank and file troops can be terribly boring to paint, so if the price was right and the quality on par or better than my own painting, I'd probably consider it.
I have never used such a service though, and given my current financial situation, I probably won't do so in the forseeable future.

Now a service that based my infantry units after I painted the miniatures themselves... There's a thought :D I absolutely loathe doing bases!!! :p :D

I'm undecided.  A lot of the time I'd rather chew my own arm off than to keep painting miniatures, but on the other hand I'm too anal to let anyone else near them.

I voted "depends on cost".  In the old days there was a young guy with no cash and good painting skills that did most of my IG army.  I have 4 full armies in boxes waiting to be painted and I'd happily outsource a couple of them.  The strength of the UK Pound will probably be your undoing however.

I voted no, I just enjoy it too much.

I have painted several armies for other people though (usually some form of battering involved. I've painted a couple of armies for a mate who then supplied me with an unpainted Epic army for me to keep - everyone is happy).

I voted no because I think that if I am going to pay the money and play the army that it should be my work on the table no matter if it is good or bad.

I went with depends. While i do have 3 armies being painted for me currently they are not epic (6mm German and Russian ww2 and warmaster empire (3000+ points)).

But i did this for a trade. one semi-newish pc and i get all that painted. Fair trade IMHO.

As for actually paying hard cash..... i dunno it would depend really. I know i have a lot of trouble getting started recently with painting so i might consider it.

That's my thoughts exactly :) I only ever use the odd-2nd hand already painted model if the scheme is too good to remove - so far, 2 out of the very many models I've bought, and I couldn't resist giving them the old flesh wash and the drybrush.

Seeing the piles of stored stuff I have, a painting service makes tonnes of sense (or at least as many kg as I have in lead or white metal or plastic), but I still wouldn't personally go for it. As an aside, a good number of local scene 40k/WHFB players appreciate painting services, although only a local one would be popular due to shipping costs (I live in Malta).

Nice work on the models shown on the website, anyway. :) :)
