What is the best for flocking bases? i use static flock in 40K and WFB but how would that work in Epic anyone have pictures? Is it too long for epic infantry bases? |

Anything goes - I personally prefer a blend of these; some feel that sand is a bit too large and looks like Easter Eggs (of all things!) in Epic scale, or that static grass is too long, although I like the lost in a grassland look. Pepper looks very much like a dark gravel and is excellent , and it does not degrade. And clay-based (Fullers earth) cat litter looks like large bits of rubble. Here's a sample showing the undesirable 'Easter egg' sand. |

Static grass looks better with large models and tree trunks made out of sticks add contrast. |

Nice!! Doesn't seem mad out of scale. I am really worried for the infantry but I might try a mix. Any one else with any suggestions? Whats good for Water? I want to put a little bit in a crater but I am not forking out for the water effect from GW!! |

I haven't tried it yet, but I believe 2-part polyester resin does a grand job. |

Sand works well for me, I have various grain sizes from fine to coarse and mix and match depending on the size of the model. For water leave a patch of the base uncovered and just apply several layers of ink. ?At Epic scale the shine will end up making it look like water |

Just about any glossy varnish will work just fine for Epic scale water. Apply several layers if you want a depth effect. |

I have some decomposed granite that I've been using for 15 years now....very fine mid brown. These days I mix it 50-50 with GW static grass. Nice effect IMO, though not so durable. ![]() |
