Last Monday I started painting the first Hellblade...


... and there it sat on my desk for the rest of the week, until this morning! :confuse:  I also painted the other bases for the Chaos Aircraft.

In a rather welcome development, I've reworked the Chaos army list I'll be using for the Epic Participation game at our opening weekend so that I take one formation of Hellblades, instead of two.  That means I'm not so pressed for painting time, which is very welcome, as I've terrain coming at me from every direction at the moment!  :O

Anyway, here's the first Hellblade.  Enjoy! :cool:

Thank you ?- yeah, I'm pleased with the Cockpits! :) ?The idea behind the scheme of these fighters is that they'd fit with all of my planned Epic Chaos armies - Emperor's Children, World Eaters, Legion of Taurus (Bronze Armour) - as well as the Iron Warriors... ?I thought Black, with Silver, Brass and a bit of Gold would tie it to all of those armies in some way. ?I think it's difficult to get it to go with Death Guard, though... :confuse:

Anyway, I've painted up that last Iron Warriors objective, here it is:



And finally, I've painted the first Hell Talon. ?Again, I'm pleased with the Cockpit! :D

Love the objective!  Always good to see something worth fighting over.

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

Thanks everyone! :)  Yeah, I'm pleased with how these Chaos flyers have turned out - I've another three Hellblades to do, but they'll have to wait now until later this month.

I also have two Slaaneshi Cultist HQ stands to convert, I was planning on using them in the participation game next weekend as the Commander & Commisar for the Guard forces I'm using as traitors in the game.  But I don't think I'll have time to convert and paint them before Thursday...

Anyway, here's a group shot of the Chaos Aircraft swooping over the ruins of an Imperial city.  Thanks for looking! :cool: :)
