Don't get me wrong, the white is very well painted and just the right hue. It's just that I find that following structural details with the paint scheme generally break the spell for me.

Imho, the white turret looks good - especially in light of the rest of the army. Obviously hideously impractical for camouflage, but hey this is 40k - rule of cool ! :D

Must say I'm impressed with the care you are putting into all the models and the background too.

Might steal that camo too...

I quite like the white turrets myself, I think they look great and they fit perfectly with the overall 40k ambiance. Everything looks great, good job :)

I quite like the little dioramas, that's what I'm working on myself for my current project (not IG though).

Nice work on the ruins jimmy, there still seems to be plenty of these plastic ruin sprues circulating around these parts.

Interesting project start there! I like the internal column bases.

Seems a good balance of debris and playability/sturdiness.

Some more oldies from the archives, dug out, dusted off, and activated for the army.

The Medusa assault guns of the 964th were extensively used in the bitter urban combat typical of the latter part of the campaign. Their firepower was used to shift enemy positions from buildings and fortifications, allowing infantry and armored elements to advance without fear of traps and suicide squads.

Normally the shorter range of the Medusa gun makes it vulnerable to enemy armor but the narrow streets allowed their devastating firepower to be leveraged at ultra close range. Such was the need for assault guns that even the regimental support group tanks were found always in the forefront of the battle. The markings on this vehicle indicate it was from motorized support company-Gimel, from command group (R01).

While traditionally Medusas are employed in a supporting role with Infantry units, their high explosive shells were used to startling effect as an anti-armor unit. Such was the power of the assault gun, when combatants found themselves suddenly facing each other at point blank range in the reduced visibility environment that even the famed Land Raiders of the Traitor Astartes would crumple from direct shots. As the campaign progressed hunter squads of Medusa assault guns were frequently paired with the heavier Leman Russ tanks in shock attacks. This technique eventually went on to become a standard T'tenba strategy during the latter imperial crusades (see Holsteed, "First of the Emperor" for detailed tactical analysis).

Nice work, Jim. Really liking your Krieg. It's inspired me to get on with painting some of mine this afternoon…instead of working on the house renovations. So this is actually a bad thing, Jim. Look what you've made me do...
