Agreed Mojarn, all my old B/Fs will keep that rating.  They are displayed near each other in my "War Room" and look close enough !

Whew, the pressure is off. I've finished making a gaming table and have made most of the scenery I'll need for my game on Tuesday. I'm probably going to make some scrub/forest and maybe some more of the rocky patches, but a game can be played on it as is so I don't have to worry too much.

Now my focus is on base coating as many models in rusty metal as I can (I've already undercoated black all the moels I am going to use), then if I have time I'll move on to painting tyres, etc to make them look more acceptable as a force. Thinking about it I'll have to divest my room of sand before that...

Now that my room is clear of sand I can get back to posting pictures. :p

I've nearly got enough Gunwagonz and Oddboywagonz converted for my grand plan to make three of these:

'Uge Blitz Brigade
10 Gunwagons, 2 Flakwagon
3 Oddboyz

Which I plan on using in my next game. To give myself a break from painting Stormboys I gave my Wagonz their first drybrush of Boltgun Metal (they had already been undercoated and base coated).

Also I am making a Landa for my Stormboys to go in. I still need to add a few more bitz to it, but it isn't far off finished. It is made from two Stompa's and some plasma guns for rockets.

Pics are taken with my poor camera again since the other is temporarily out of commission.

Unfortunately I'd probably die of old age before I finished. :;):

Inspired use of Stompas! And your gunwagons are looking great, especially when they're all grouped together. :) Keep up the good work. My own Orks are slowly coming along too, but a production line of battlewagonz have been staring at me for so long now I'm starting to think they won't paint themselves!

How did your first game on your table go btw?

LOL, I might have to use that myself sometime. :D

The game went well, lots of very good rolling on my part and bad on my opponents, e.g. me passing 3+ activations and him failing 2+ ones. I won in the end but it went to turn 4. The list I used (after many many changes) was this:

Gargant
1 Gargant (1 x Zzap, 2 x Soopagun) 650
Total: 650

Fighta Sqwadron
3 Fighta Bommers 150
3 Fighta Bommers 150
Total: 300

'Uge Blitz Brigade
12 Gunwagons 350
3 Oddboyz (1 x Zzap, 2 x Soopagun) 150
Total: 500

'Uge Blitz Brigade
12 Gunwagons 350
3 Oddboyz (3 x Zzap) 150
Total: 500

Kult Of Speed
6 Skorchas, 2 Warbikes 200
1 Warbike 25
Total: 225

Kult Of Speed
8 Skorchas 200
Total: 200

Kult Of Speed
8 Skorchas 200
Total: 200

Gunzmob
5 Big Gunz 125
1 Oddboy (1 x Zzap) 50
1 Nob 35
Total: 210

Gunzmob
5 Big Gunz 125
1 Oddboy (1 x Zzap) 50
1 Nob 35
Total: 210

Grand Total: 2995

My BB's did awesome damage, on turn one I doubled one of them up to within shooting range of one of my opponents Mechanised Infantry Company's and took out a number of Chimeras with troops inside. Then I doubled my other BB and didn't do a great deal of damage to his Infantry Co. Right throughout the game the BB's did huge damage.

The Gargant got shot to pieces but hung on, broken, nearly to the last. So even though he didn't shoot once he paid for himself in enemy formation turns he took up. The FB's did well and the small KoS's did great too, something I wasn't really expecting of 200 point formations. I love Skorchas now, they did great in assaults and very well at shooting too, double 70cm's then shoot at a 5+ against LV's and infantry, very effective.

I'm going to drop the Gunzmobs, they didn't do anything in the game that another small KoS couldn't have done better. I doubt this has anything to do with their effectiveness, more my gaming style, I'm too much of a speed freek!

I think I forgot to mention that I stole the idea of using a Stompa for the Landa from this thread:

I've finished my Stormboyz, including a leader who is either a Drill Sarjent or a Warlord (I'm thinking of putting my Warlord with the Stormboys next game). The leader was made with a Warlords left arm stuck onto a Nob and a cut up Stormboy on his back, plus green stuff around and about.

I'm going to finish this diary now, due to sporadic access to a decant camera and the fact that now I'm going to be painting a lot of the same models the same colours that have been posted already. Once I have finished some more models I'll make a web site with their pics and post that in a new thread.

A big thanks to everyone who has helped and given encouragement, I couldn't have done this much without it!

Stormboyz
Leader

Hi,

When I saw your first Stormboyz stand ages ago I thought it was great, but putting them together in a formation makes them look even better. Send them into battle in an arrow formation for extra style though. :p

I was going to photo them like that, but couldn't get them all in the picture so I had to squidge them together. :)
