200 carriages, 200 cradles, 100 artillery cannons, and 100 mortars.

Mr. Boyce has indicated that the re-cast of the carriage is good. Depending upon his ComicCon frolicking, he will get it cleaned up. Not sure if we should delay shipping for the Gorgonzola ramp, though.

If it helps you to decide on parts distribution, I'm only after Saltshakers.

From a sellers perspective its clearly one carriage, 2 guns. From a buyers its 1 carriage 1 gun :)

Here's some feedback from Todd concerning our Saltshaker plight.

Otterman: Is it possible to take a broken one, and some green stuff, and just smoosh it back together until you can't tell there was a break there?

It should survive making a mould like that, no?

Or are you worried that the eventual metal model will have the same issue?

I'd be tempted to bulk up the underside if there's a flow problem for the bronze.

I would think so, but neither Todd nor the metal man are happy with the idea. They have the expertise, so I'll trust their judgement.

Yeps, I'll make the red-squared connection larger and add reinforcing elements to the underside.

No pictures for you! Go to back of line! Well, OK, maybe some pictures later.

Here's some insight from the other Todd:

> Essentially, when you have a large mass being fed by thin pieces (ala the
> arms on the carriage), the thin pieces will cool first. This means that as
> the large mass cools and shrinkage occurs, it will cause cracking along
> those thin gates since the shrinkage can't pull on metal that's already
> cooled in a rigid mold.

So, looks like I will redesign the carriage to have separate legs. Maybe I can do it so the legs are posable, making both deployed and towed versions possible.

Annoying that you have to redesign, but posable legs could be a nice touch if separate ones are necessary anyway.
