This army is starting to really come together. Very Nice indeed.

I have been silent till now but watching it intensely - nice work Mok.

Wow, that is looking impressive. I'm stunned by the speed you seem to be knocking these guys out as well - its taken me six months to get less than half that much done  . Great to see someone else using lots of the old style vehicles as well - shame you didn't pick a 1st Founding Chapter or you could use them as a pre-heresy force (my own current obsession). Loking forward to the next installment!

THanks guys :-)
I actually work evenings aside from doing a part time Post-Grad degree so i have plenty of time to paint during the day; thus the speed...though today i'm hungover and just can't handle it!
It's funny that someone should ask about building to a list actually...i started off with something silly like 12K of random marine stuff but eventually pared it down to all of this lot.  There's 8k in there and i've tried for a kind of "1 or 2 of everything" approach. This allows me to field two of my favourite 4k lists: a drop pod force followed by a ground based company army.  At the same time for big games i can pull out 4k of titans and air support :-)
Oh; and of course the collection allows me to mess around with tournament lists; i've tried for an economy of forces rather than just owned shed loads of useless mini's.
More tommorow i hope and cheers for keeping an eye!

Fisrt shipment of nids arrived yesterday; expecting the infantry and othe such things any day now; just need one more biovore and a left arm for the titan to finish my 3k off!

The only question is what colour to paint them? I'm very tempted to go with a darker take on the old school reds and blues...either that or to go with calssic Leviathan colours from recent codex's...dunno

oh; and has anyone got a left arm for a hydraphant going spare?!
Otherwise it's bits box time from a mate...

I think they came out pretty good. Personally I'd not have painted the undercarriage blue because aircraft tend to have the interior parts white and the skids will get some kind of non slip coating. I'd also think about adding more highlights to the grates on the side of the craft, there is alot of detail there that can be brought out. Another thing to think about is the engines and adding a bit of ink to suggest oil and wear as well as making the exhaust ends have some kind of heat color distortion from the exhaust all the time.

cool; i'll give all of that a go tomorrow; do you mean the grates below the frontal 'wings' so to speak? or all of the armor plates?
Yrs,

yeah the grates below the frontal wings. You can if you like blackline all the panels, but thats a but tricky. Easiest method is to get some black gouashe and wash it in place then use a cotton swab thats slightly damp to lift the excess from edges around the crevice.

Very nice, great balance of colours on the different parts - and yes Vaaish's ideas sound good too.

Vaish's ideas have been actioned and i'm pretty happy with how things turned out :-)
Had to use a flash to bring out the colours this time though.

Forgot to highlight the grates though, doh!
Might paint a bit more today but probably only Rhino's

Very nicely done.

The adjustments you made really helped the overall look of the model.

Some weathering basics that translate well to Epic scale, & might be helpful to you, can be found here: http://www.swannysmodels.com/Tools.html .  They cover sludge washes, using Future, & some other good stuff.

Cheers Ghudra :-) Took a look at the site and may well give some of that a go soon.

Wanted something quick and easy to paint today so knocked up these Tornadoes:

The marines were a little hard to pick out until i added the details and helmet stripe and realised i hadn't painted their hands; of all things ro forget in a Crimson FISTS army!
