Stunning stuff Onyx. My favourite (tough call) in the Hordes of Iron are your Obliterators, Wow! The shoulder guards must have been a major pain? Great results.

Thanks Warhead but these aren't my Iron Warriors and I didn't make the obliterators (Mark_Logue did). All I did was paint them.

More of the Iron Warriors finished.

These aren't mine, I'm just painting them for a fellow member of this forum.
I think he's mentioned somewhere that his Iron Warriors, Legio Mortis Titans and Chaos Navy support come to about 100,000pts  :oo: .

I admit that I didn't know the army was that big when I started (my own fault for not asking) but the way I look at is that I'm getting lots of practice for when I get round to painting my own Iron Warriors   .

I'd say you will probably be sick of Iron Warriors when you have finished this army.

Oops, yes sorry I do remember now having read that you are painting these for someone else (lucky bleeder!). My hat goes off to Mark_Logue and the remarks I made earlier are still none the less true.

Just Painted Them?!? Modest perhaps but quite an accomplishment. 100,000 points!?! Bloody heck!  :oo:

As the owner of this it has been great to watch Steve's work. He is doing a fantastic job and I cannot sing his praise enough. The army I have been collecting for almost ten years, since the dark days of nothing when all we had to buy from was Ebay and the like. It has grown into the monster I always wanted it to become. I have two huge armies, this one and my Blood Ravens which is an entire Chapter.

How did I get to 100,000 points, well I have based this army off the old Space Marine Regimental order of battle from a WD from way way back. It also uses a rule of eight being that it is Chaos Undivided, with a general house rule of an army of twos. So it has a Regimental HQ, which is the Warsmith's Retinue with transport. It the has eight support choices below this to represent supporting companies to the Regiment. From there it breaks down into eight Battalions with their own supporting companies. The battalions are broken down into three companies with transport pools.

As far as Battalions go, there is a Chosen Battalion, which has one Company of mechanised, one company of drop (Dreadclaws) and one company of teleporters. Then there are two Assault Battalions, which are essentially mechanised Battalions in Rhinos. Then there is a Drop Battalion, everyone in Dreadclaws. Two Siege Battalions which are orientated very much on infantry and artillery assets. The the two Specialist Battalions which hold specialist assault troops, more armour, plenty of artillery and the like.

It is supported by Legio Mortis, sporting a number of Titan Battle Groups and some Knights. From there we end up with the fleet which has plenty of ships to carry this monstrous army into battle and a good number of aircraft to support the ground battle, including a number of Harbingers to bring some serious pain.

I will get onto army builder when I get home next week and do a better count. Alot of things I have to allow for as the army list allows me to choose things like Vindicators and Basilisks, I wrote the list years ago and have lost the original, but have all the basics still in my head. Oh and I promise to post a picture of the whole thing once it is done.

Again a massive thanks to Steve for his magnificent work that he continues to turn out and to Mark for his fantastic conversions, I am sure that both these guys will remain inspiration to us all for a long time.

Cheers
Aaron

I finally got the courage up to have a go at Mark_Logue's converted Terminators.
Love your work Mark!

Again, Steve

Turning out fantastic work that just makes my jaw drop. As to the army composition, I am waiting for the current batch to return and then I will have a final number. As to the Blood Ravens, there are plenty of pics of them on here, just search my posts to find them. I will however post a thread of there composition in the Adeptus Astates in the near future.

Cheers
Aaron

Fantastic thread Onyx, Mark_Logue and CAL001, just read all the way through. I have to say that you're all crazy in the nicest possible way. :;):

@Onyx: How do you the bases for the infantry?
