I'm a big fan of weathering in general, but yours is always fantastic. You do a great job of placing it logically, and this really reinforces the scale well.
You will need to break up the reds on the top of the raider without the missile rack. What about a big blood raven icon, maybe set against some tan background?

Thanks! Looking at the top of the regular raiders, the area seems a bit too broken up to make freehand like that work without sanding it flat. I think you are right that black in that area would help out and I'm actually leaning towards making the entire raised panel that houses the stormbolter and the little hatch black.

I didn't have a raider in front of me, but I was worried it might be too broken up. Sanding it might make it look too plain. Blackening the upper hatches should work.

Well, another week and another round of Epic marines This time the first four regular land raiders hit the painting stand. All in all I think they turned out alright although it feels a bit odd since the decal takes up the front and there isn't really any good area for freehand that makes a while lot of sense. I didn't end up making the entire plate black, opting instead to just do the hatch and stormbolter. Next up is a short break from Epic and GW to finish up the next three mechs before returning for the last of the land raiders and another mech. After that perhaps I'll finally get working on my tech marine
