G'day Jim,

Mate that's a great looking force, you have achieved a really good result with your yellow!
I hope to see this army on the tables at Castle Assault in August.
Also being a fellow Novacastrian, if you or any of your group are chasing some more games of either 30k or 40k just shoot me a PM. ;)

Keep up the great work with the army!

Cheers

Mic

Thanks Mic appreciate it mate, i hope to see them there too. We will take you up on the offer of some games in the near future mate for sure. Thanks for the invite along to the heresy big bash the other week too was good to see such a big fight in action

Very good what you are showing off here!

May i ask what colours you use for your yellow?
I really like the warmer tone it has.
*apologies if you provided that info already

Thanks very much Gonzo appreciate the feedback and always happy to talk about my yellow

i stick my figures to tongue depressors to give me all access space
stong white undercoat
2 coats of "juice" vallejo golden yellow (40 60 paint with water) with seems silly with a weak pigment colour but the thinness of the paint preshades and the tone builds up
hit the high points with brighter yellow (gw suburst yellow old pot in my case)
Glaze of sepia tone ink thinned 60 40 as per juice paint.

add details then send to thier deaths in the emperors service.
the only issue doing it this way is the yellow is unforgiving to touch up if i make a mistake with later steps

good luck

Thanks Adrian appreciate it

Sorry for the long absence from my thread guys, been occupied with other game systems and a general laziness where painting has been concerned.

I have pulled back some mojo and have some new stuff i hope to get up in the next day or so as well as a new battle report with my VIIth and princess potato's dark angels. Post soon, light is bad for photos right now!

Superb work on these Jim! I think the dude in the pintle looks great! Maybe don't do it on every tank in the formation but it works really well! :)

yeah good call on the vet. Be careful about making something distinguishable for them and tech marines (different more crimson red should do the trick)

Thanks for the kind words everyone i appreciate it.

Seems the consensus is keep the vet but use him sparingly. I like the idea of using him to represent that a character is in the unit, thats a top idea, i'll do a tank of each type with a a vet.....hmmm.

Good point on the techie Jimmy, about to have a fluff fail here but are they all red with yellow pauldrons in the heresy era or is that a later thing? If so i could convert a tech marine tank too.....good excuse to have a few more tanks which you know i'm ok with.

pretty pics in a sec (well maybe if you are into yellow)
