Ok, not much progress - but I was busy being revived from a near-death choking experience, no thanks to our friendly neighbourhood Finnish Dark Lord. 
Not bad as an excuse eh?
Actually, I did 2 things:
1 - dug out the CI from a small pile of rubble and bits
2 - thought about the Rhino-look fix - the sides have to be tackled! Alas, progress is hindered again by a lack of plasticard - but I'll try to give it some priority.
