I have been looking at that and contemplating, but then thinking that the $ is better spent on minis!

It does look ncie but its a lot of money when you dont play 40k and dont want the game stats.

That is my problem as well. That is a lot of money for a referance book that is only good for a fictional game world.  :{

But I do so want it.  :L

I don't play 40k, and didn't have an IG army when I bought it.... the rules are a minor part of it, and I could easily have done without them.... :;):

It has been extrememly useful with planning my Valhallan army, working out markings and camo, and is a great read anytime.... :) oh and good quality paper and printing too, but thats hardly the main thing...  :;):

It has crossed my mind, Storm !  But like Tas, for now, I'll be saving my $ for the Siege Army, F/W G/K and Vultures !  But who knows ?!  :;):

Progress update;

Over the weekend I cleaned up and assembled the artillery company, my regimental HQ (including 7 Chimeras) and the Titan I got from Lextar.
All these are now undercoated and ready to paint.

Yesterday the army had it's first couple of outings against the Orks- Game 1: a win, Game 2: Draw.
Good results, but titan killer weapons would have been handy against a certain Gargant!
The Leman Russ company proved very effective against battlewagons and gunwagons, and even fought on after loosing half their number to a large Stormboyz mob (and winning the assault!), and then being bombarded by the Gargant....
I've a few pics of the battle if people want to see them. :)

Now THATS the silliest question I've heard all day!

And congrats on the win- there is nothing like a Victory to inspire more painting ?:laugh:

Here we go then... I'm afraid a few are a little blurry, and you'll see lots of unpainted minis in this lot.... anyway, hope you like them! :)

First up- Baneblade and Leman Russ squadron move up onto an objective, and prepare to face the Ork charge.

...Stompas approach- just before getting blasted by the Baneblade and a pair of Russ squadrons, causing them to break... *evil laugh*  :D

The second Russ squadron move up onto another objective and take a few potshots at an Ork mob.

Regimental HQ dismount from Chimeras and capture another objective, along with the second Rus squadron.

Along with the Baneblade and the other Russes, they all blast away at the approaching Mob, while the Stompas flee in the distance.

Ork Mob about to sweep into the Guard ranks....

Probably the turning point of this battle, as I won by the skin of my teeth (and some lucky dice rolling) and managed to cut all the Orks down as they fled, leaving one damaged mob left to mop up.

Game Two- just got a pair of pics from this battle...

First (sorry for blurryness) shows Baneblade company and Leman Russ company holding the centre, with the Regimental HQ holding back, and the Artillery company holding the objective at the back of the board....

Orks advance in the background, accompanied by a Gargant.
