These are looking brilliant FB. The whole army is going to look very angry (just as it should). Keep it up mate.

the jar of rage

You realize that you have to cut off one of the berzerkers chain swords and model a "jar of rage"...and if you don't, I will.

Just love it.

Basing the World Eaters - Part 2

Here is one of the finished bases

I learned a valuable lesson that you have to be mega careful in drybrushin bases as a stray brush will wreck your models. I have spent over an hour on touch-ups after this unfortunate event, and as the pic below shows, there may be more time spent with the Gold and Red to cover up the stray Grey areas on the armour (leg greave)

- I drybrushed the base with Adeptus Battlegraey
- Very slight highlight with Skull White
- Painted on some wood glue (white glue) in random areas and then dunked in flock
- Painted base edges with Chaos Black

Now we just have to finalise the World Eater list so I know whether Skull Lords are going to be placed on permanent or removable bases (all based on the Blood Rage rule) as I have 3 squads of Berserkers waiting on Skull Lord Leaders.

Yay for painted minis!  ???

I really like the basing scheme... What's the pot of textured paint? Something you've knocked up or just a stock standard textured paint you can grab off the shelf?

I was at a Convention and a guy had it there for sale so I bought 3 different colours.

I found out he trades in the same state as me (and I think he makes them himself) so I am thinking of getting more as the Khorne army may just use the whole lot.

Makes it himself? So is it just sand in a pot of paint or something similar?

Your guess is as good as mine. But for ~AUS$7 who cares really. Saves me time. $7 well spent   :;):

Edit: Hey, you are Tasmanian methinks!  He is in the Mornington area (Vic). Do you want me to get you his details?

Ok,

Despite the apparent set-back with the World Eaters list, the journey continues as I paint more miniatures towards a final painting guide for Apoc.

Here are the Bloodthirsters I worked on this week:

Procedure:
Exactly the same as Berserkers
Loin Cloth painted with Adeptus Battlegrey
Horns tipped half way with Scorched Brown and tipped with Chaos Black

10 stands worth

...and the 21 Berserker stands waiting on Skull Lord bases:

Oh, I hadn't realised you were an Aussie.
Yeah, I'm Tasmanian. PM me his details... It'd save me a lot of time with basing, thats for sure

Loving all the red. The Beserkers look great as do the bloodletters.

Now the next project has started.

6 x Slaughterfiends - These are borrowing inspiration heavily from Apoc and Honda

I will try to get step by step pictures up as I go. This will be wekks worth of work.
