Ok, Ive been experimenting a bit trying to make more interesting bases for my superheavies, this is what I came up with, comments and suggestions welcome of course:

Sorry for being late on this, but I think it would look better if you mounted them square on the base rather than obliquely. Plus, the base can then also help in determining which arc the tank takes fire from (as the shot will cross one of the sides of the base).

The scheme looked a bit harsh to me, but now you've got four companies painted up, I confess it looks really nice! Quite a Zebra effect though, heh  :))

Thats a very good point, I did not think of that. Right now Im considering basing all the vehicles on some other sort of base, maybe warmaster bases (they seem pretty nice for epic).

Bases are a low priority right now however as I need to sit my ass down and paint up all the fiddly infantry and cavalry that are still left... When the army is finished I think I will have painted something like 350 6mm scale faces and 700 hands...

Try Magister Militum for bases, they are much cheaper and you get more options!  :;):

Great link, thanks! I reckon the 30x40 and 40x40 bases would be perfect for vehicles, 40x30 for artillery pieces, 40x40 for superheavies.  :agree:

Although 30x30s or 30x20s would have been nice for leman russ (or land raiders) :shutup:

Yeah, funnily enough, that what I was searching for when I came across their website! I wanted some big skeletons for terrain, and thought that 10-15mm dinos would do it... Also, I wanted the 'live' 10mm dino models for an Exodite project that never came to fruition.

@Brother-Captain Parzval:

Yeah, I will start with a pack of each size and see what tanks fit best on what. Shame they don't do round bases as well, but I think the 40x15mm bases would good for infantry too as I find the 40x10mm a bit cramped, and the 40x20mm a bit too big.

Anyway, glad to help out folks with Epic base requirements!  :))

They have a very interesting assortment of 6mm ww2 buildings too... The Stalingrad-stuff... Looking very good and prices are not all that bad either, would look perfect on a epic battlefield  :wow:

If we're talking suggestions of favourite mini bases, I like the cast polymer bases from Kallistra.  They don't come in as big a range of sizes as MM, though.

For round bases the game counters from EM4 are decent.  Then they have 'proper' gaming bases in 30mm and 40mm, slightly flatter than GW's.  Smaller vehicles look like they're performing less of a balancing act on the 30mm than on ye olde 25mm; but obviously don't look as lost as they would on a 40mm.  Larger tanks look good on the 40mm but the bigger kinds of SHT might have a problem fitting neatly.
Couple of old pics of DRM hammerjacks and chasseurs on 31mm counters and 40mm bases respectively, here.  From that you might be able to tell that I like your colour scheme. ;)

Thanks guys! The "7" represents the fact that they are the "lucky sevens", 7th Cadian!

Heres my latest addition, a termite. If I in the future get my hands on 3 moles I will use this one as transport for the command unit. Other than that ts just a cool mini I happened to have around.
