However I didn't really have the guts to do it since it involves chopping up a perfectly good Gargantuan Squiggoth.

Great job.. gotta love that model!

Hehe don't be frightened - people often seem scared of FW stuff ????

I also chopped up one of my squiggoths and gave it a flail instead of a horn.. minor thing compared to yours I know.. but still ?

Wow! I'm usually not an Ork fan, but these models almost made me change my mind. Very good stuff, WMN.

I've received that large order of miniatures I was speaking of recently.

The Empire & Bretonian Knights from WHFB will really make the conversions on the Raven Knight minis go that extra mile.

And I might just happen to build that SoB Battlesuit I've been thinking about...

Thanks guys :)

Still in an orky mood I've painted up a couple of Speedsta variants and a Dragster for my Speed Freeks.

Thanks :)

More conversion projects up. I need a few opinions...

First is a Leman Russ Exterminator. I've used the top twin lascannons form a Flakwagon to proxy the twin Autocannons. They might be slightly large but definitely more durable than something scratch built from plastic tube.

Next I've wanted to do some updated Chimera variants for my Tech Guard force. The old models are nice but not very detailed so I've experimented a bit with various conversions.

The Chimerro is easy: simpy use the Hunter Killer missile turret from the E40k verison.

The Chimerax was a bit more complicated. Again I've used Flakwagon guns which might be a bit on the large side but easily obtainable and relatively easy to build as well.

The Chimedon is the one I've had most doubts about. The SM/TL stats says it has a battlecannon. Now it is easy enough to simply use a Lema Russ turret but to be honest I find that the barrel is a bit long for a Chimera body. A Forge World Conqueror turret is better and gives a nice T34 look I think. However I've only got the one spare turret so I need to boy a pack of Conquerors to make the conversion for an entire squadron. The final option is to use a Demolisher turret. It looks very brutal and heavy but the turret is still very nice an small + I've got enough of those turrets to go round. :D

Cheers! :)

WN, the conversion for the Leman Russ Exterminator, Chimerro and Chimerax look good to me. For the Chimedon, I would use your second choice with the shorter barrel, since the original Chimedon had a stubby barrel.
