How moredakka did 4 of them is beyond me.

Six actually mate and yes they did take an age to finish. :)

Looking good especially with that base.

What's to hate? They are quite chunky, so I suppose they take a while...

Lots of annoying detail in gold, each engine block has runs of panel braces across it, lots of trim and detail to do in gold. Height of trim/braces in a lot of places means you can't easily drybrush it. You could do the metallic that way, or the plate colour, not both. Doesn't suit my style of painting, which left to my own devices tends to involve waggling a very distressed no5 at everything, regardless of size.

Great mini, just really not my cup of tea when it comes to painting.

Wish I had your determination :o

The base is a further variation in my playing about with the chunky lava bases. I started using a mudstone-like rock, which stuff kept snapping off, then tried bark with milliput (see hellbrute), now the above is 100% milliput.

Well after the amount of time it took to clean them up and assemble them i was indeed determined to have them painted. It took a lot of time, perseverance and patience to get them done but i got there in the end. :)

Still got a few more to do sometime. ::)

right, back to the other project again, the cone and loose change thing now has a dome and added paperclip spikes!

(repurposed the dome first seen in my very first taccon post ever, from 2008: http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/ ... 93#p254393)

size next to a warhound:

This isn't wholly finished, but is finished for now. there should be a thinner connector rod (that i'll model a gun onto) going from the top of the blast-rod to the ship's guns, but i've misplaced the bit of metal. Also need to add one another of the guns I chopped off during the building mock-up, that i've now misplaced. Finally, i'd ideally like a reduced size cruiser to force the scale a bit, so if anyone knows of a CADed chaos cruiser mini that could be shrunk and matter printed as a one off, lemme know :D

also been suggested the skull on the ship might be better in a metal colour, thoughts? not happy with the cruiser conversion in general now, but i did it years ago and it needed using.

(and going back to moredakka's flying stand guess, I only said it wasn't a flying stand for t-bolts ;) )

I love it!

all your real army projects lie unfinished while you go and build something awesome yet barely useful

I admire your dedication to procrastination! ;)
