The image on the right "sounds" good, but really doesn't work visually, plus if you wanted to pull a little reality in on this, causes all sorts of balancing issues with that much weight off axis.

The next one in seems much more viable to me and it would fit the design requirement of "fits on either side".

Here's a comparison so you can see the whole robot with the quacks:

Another idea was to mount the ammo feed onto the Robot itself, behind the arms and beneath the engines, allowing for a larger magazine and fixing any balance issues.
Something a little like this:

Obviously require a lot of refinement but this gives an ieda of where they'd fit:
Also note that the Robot has enough space to mount the feed either inside or outside the weapon.

The Tommy guns are cool, though your last suggestion might be interesting if it was developed a bit as well. Just to suggest something completely different: How about a gigantic "ammo clip" instead of the revolver feed? Not sure it would work, but just throwing it out there as yet another option.

Well let me just add to the confusion by saying that I like all 3 for different reasons.

The top mounted design is an interesting approach simply because it is different. It also seems kind of sensible as this has much of the titan body protecting the ammo itself. From a painting perspective I'm torn though; the interesting details that makes it fun to paint is less visible/accessible this way.

The other two solve the visual issue, but on the downside they look a lot like a grenade launcher. Not in itself a bad thing, but a less original design than the first option. Werther to have it at the centre or towards the rear is just as tricky: Having it centered looks nicely balanced, but some kind of techy looking loading mechanism/shell casing disposal mechanism could be added to make the rear part interesting.
The rear mounted feed is probably more sensible, and a disposal mechanism could still be added, but I'm not quite as convinced about the overall balance (probably depends on how it looks on the rest of the model)
