Hi!

My humblest thanks to Markconz, Reedar and Rastamann for their detailed information!

It seems I have some planning to do. ;)

Big thanks to Markconz :

Was trying to workout last night whether to go "V2" 50mm for just my scout titans or "V5" 70mm for my warlords too - looks like 50mm will do for both - ideal !! ;D

2nd for reminding me old square SM bases are 20 not 25mm square ! :D

No worries guys happy to help, and in reply to your PM Primarch here's the D4H quarter tray (20mmx20mmx40mm) with imperial vehicles - surprising how many you can comfortably fit in if you really want!!

On left is Baneblade, Bombard, Basilisk, Manticore. On right, Shadowsword, Chimera and Hellhound in one compartment, 2 Leman Russ in one compartment. Amazing. They fit in comfortably like this, with the exception that you would have to make a quick snip with scissors to make extra space for the Shadowsword barrel, and you would probably need to remove a divider and use two compartments for the ForgeWorld superheavies.
That's 60 Chimeras or Leman Russ per tray = 480 per standard KR case!! Or 240 artillery or Superheavies!! Enough even for a Primarch!

Hi!

My most appreciative thanks! I'll wait until the bottom of the month to put the order in. I will take pictures when it arrives. :)

Here are Shapeways fighters on the left side in a D4H quarter tray (20mmx20mmx40mm). This is not pick and pluck and comes like this. I fit in 8 fighter stands (20mm bases) per compartment as shown. Could be good for doing your old 20mm epic bases in similar way perhaps if you want to save on overall space.

Hi Markconz - can i just get a clarification. In the KR site "D" trays are shown as "pick and pluck." Size seems right 40x20mm. Have you just plucked your's already :D or have they changed their product ? Not really an issue, I'd just like the loose plucks as extra packing for when i put 2 models per compartment.

@ Primarch - oh no ! I fear if your order goes in at the same time as mine there may be a world shortage of cases just when i need them !! :D

@ Rastaman - Yeah, 2/3 large models on a 20mm looked a bit squeezed to me too. 5 infantry can also look dense - good for IG/orks nids, funny for eldar marines etc. I've experimented with 4 and 3 infantry on a base. 4 looks good imho (and corresponds nicely to 2 RL fire teams.) 3 looks ok close up, but a bit weedy on the table.

Thanks again guys.

Oops quite right Blip it is a pick and pluck.... post corrected and I recommend people double check I get those codes right, there is a lot of them and it gets pretty confusing!! Just the M4H that is not pick and pluck then (hopefully).

No worries - its all blooming confusing ! I had to write my own mini guide to the KR codes (cross-reffing what in my collection would fit where) to keep track. Will see if i've got it right when it arrives ! :)

Hi!

I have been trying to place an order through the KR trays site, but their system is incredibly obtuse to me.

How the heck do you pick and choose trays to fill the 1200 case? It keeps trying to give me fixed choices I have no interest in or core sets that do not include certain pluck and play codes.

Anyone know? I can call them otherwise.

They are in desperate need of someone to overhaul their website....

Yes I agree it needs an overhaul!!

1. Choose 1200 case.
2. Click on the "Select Core" and click continue.
3. Click "click here to fill a bespoke case".
4. In the text box, enter the codes of the trays you want, you will need enough for to fill six cases worth! You might want to use the tray selector to play around with this. For my 800 case I copied and pasted the codes like this "4xJ2H, 2xJ5H,2xF3H, 3xJ2H,2xD4H, J5H,2xJ4H,2xD4H,F3H".
5. Then add to shopping cart and pay!

Hi!

I did just that, I'm thinking I was expecting the price to update when I added it, but it dawn on me after reading your response that the price list 219.99 IS the price with trays included. I thought it was the price "empty".

Oh well, that's what happens when your old and confused.... :P

Thanks Markconz, off to order the first case!

Hi!

Placed order yesterday. I'll post pictures when it arrives. I mostly went with D4H and V trays, including one to put Imperators in. We'll see how that goes. :)
