Then you are going to be disappointed. The Shades and Glazes aren't like the Washes at all.

Puzzling really since the washes were so popular.

And, unfortunately, the one texture I got (the grey one) is worse than useless; instead of an even layer of sand in paint, I ended up with a few clumps of sandy gloop in a really thick uncontrollable nazty paint-thing.

I feel bad about throwing nearly unused paint away, but I think I'll end up doing so anyway.

I've tried the Nuln Oil and Camoshade ... not bad ... I can work with these so far. But if I run across and more of the old G/W washes, I'll snatch them up ...

Hearing great stuff about the Army Painter Soft Tone and Dark Tone inks (read close to the old GW sepia and devlan mud uses). I've ordered some so I'll paint a patch and post comparison when it comes in.

NOTE: we're talking about the INK not the QUICKSHADE here. Two completely different products.

OK inks are in. I've put up the comparison swatches of Badab Black (bb), Devlan Mud (dm), Gryphonne Sepia (gs) on the top with Army Painter Dark Tone (dt) and Soft Tone (st) inks on the lower. For giggles I threw in Ogryn Flesh as well.

AS you can see the Army Painter Dark Tone sits somewhere between badab black and Devlan Mud (closer to the latter). Similarly, the Soft Tone sits between Devlan Mud and Gryphonne Sepia (again, closer to the latter). While not exact matches I have a pretty good feeling about the soft tone personally and think it's going to be a good fit.
