I love the Powerfoot conversion. Can you paint a little "O" of a mouth on the Chaos marine? Like he's saying "ooof" as he's kicked in the nuts?

great to see that you'll soon be playing an army with some special rules at last, time to come out of the barren IG wilderness ;)

I tell that to him every time I see him. He just won't take the hint.

Where would you be without your adoring fans?

Probably not crying halfway through a gallon of B&J's Chunky Munky...

Hey! There's no place for that sort of thing on an Emperor's Children blog-

Oh, right. Never mind. Carry on. :P

Your stuff is cool and all, but wait until you see my scratch built Land Raider Achilles...wait, aren't SM tanks total non-options? Anyhoo it's okay that your Sentinel is kicking one of my troops in the junk, we Iron Warriors are fans of Darwin. If a 10,000 year old, 8 foot tall armored killing machine allows a 30 year old Commissar driving a used Sentinel to crack him in the "mommy-daddy button", I think it was his time to go.

nah, there are loads of them around, they just put 'em up on bricks and turned them into sheds or hab units ;)

as for the "he deserves a kick in the junk" comment, you know, he might actually have been looking for it. He is EC afterall, so that kind of thing is probably something they enjoy.

If it was anyone else, I wouldn't correct this, but since you're my dear grammar-and-spelling-correcting (especially when one is trying to spin a good rant) friend:

You'll notice that I said he's an Iron Warrior. Please read the thread :P

Ok, some more updates. First the IG:
Powerfoot got some metal, and the iron warrior got some detail:

And then, some macoroni, still in the early stages. mmmmm, pasta. Love it. A base of shadow grey, then a heavy drybrush of codex grey:

The goal is for them to blend in with my forgeworld superheavies that I entered in epicomp a couple years ago.

...And back to the EC. I started two retinues. The fact that chaos retinues are 8 stands made me think briefly in the middle of the detail painting, "maybe I should've made a codex SM list with proxies instead - these formations are too big" ;D

Over their gray undercoat, I applied a coat of badab black wash, then started with the detail. Pink with gold edging, silver on the backpacks, guns, etc. I thought that the noise marines would be mostly pink/garish, so I didn't give them a first wash.

After all that foolishness was done, I applied a second coat of badab black:

My oblits got much the same treatment, except I put areas of sand washed with gryphon sepia to represent the "shouldn't that part be inside the armor?" bits:

Next will be touch-up, bases, and making sure they're dark enough to fit with the vehicles.

All that work on the Oblits' assless chaps and you don't even snap a picture of them?

I'm so happy for you that your 2800th post had the words "assless chaps" in it.
