Quote (Chris @ 29 2003 Mar.,23:10) | Why did the CI have its name changed from the Behmoth? |
you could argue that it didn't....
as the Behemoth was for Space Marines
the CI was for Imperial Guard
PS Stormseer check out page six

Don't forget that Codex Titanicus had an Imperial Dropship and they included an illustrated counter for it as well as the illustrations in the Codex.

Wait, the Space Marines has a stupidly large vehicle to move them round and a dropship soooooooooo good it makes the Valkerie look like a paper plane.
What Happened??
Why did they just "dissapear" without a trace? Now the biggest thing they have is the Laand Raider.
I want a dropship and a few CI's badly now.
What was the difference between the CI and the Behmoth?
Cheers
Chris
PS Thanks for the pics - they are excelent

There is no difference. Also, you can still get the drop ship from US mail order. Just be willing to give your left nut for it. It is one pricey gizmo.

there is also a dropship, the Thunderbolt

you also get a detachment card (aka SM) in the mag as well
this again could carry eight infantry stands
for those who don't know what the actual metal dropship release looked like

of course it was never actually released officially... GW US MO has a few of these unofficial miniatures to purchase!

I found the picture in WD 142, but as with a lot of GW stuff it is often recycled - note the picture is cropped, the full image is actually of a Warlord Titan (you can see his knee), the dropship is merely in the background.

...remembered where I saw that picture, it was in the Space Crusade rulebook (simpler clone(ish) of Space Hulk produced by MB games in partnership with GW), and it was of a big battlescene, featuring the Warlord titan that you can see the knee of, and a load of SMs fighting..... ..Probabaly used elsewhere before that tho...

Plus Fanatic said they were making a new dropship. (See Epic:A newsletter in General Wargames)
Cheers

I kinda knew, but wasn't sure even with the nut reference! People on this site seem to spend silly (okay to them sensible) amounts of money on Epic...
...but you never know someone else might find it useful - I myself have considered ordering some of the Eldar Exodites from the US (and a fax number would be useful for that as they are not on the website).
at over twice your age Chris, we have very different views of what is humour and what is funny

Hi!
I picked up the dropship with the exodites on my last order to GWUS, very nice models although somewhat expensive. I need to get pics for an aweful lot of stuff. I have just learned all the basics of my camera so I guess I will start soon.
Thanks for the pics!
I think I will put up some other ones tomorrow.

I have 2 of those Drop Ships and a number of others I've converted. Most are from GZG 6mm range including a Super Heavy Drop Ship that is the size of a 40K Rhino. It can carry twice the ACL of a standard Drop ship ie., 8 Land Raiders, or 16 stands of infantry.
