While the Blood Angels were not known for static defense, their use of Thunderfire Cannon arrays to guard vulnerable flanks and strategic transportation lanes was well known during the height of fighting on the 3rd Moon of Palavin. Pict-captured here were members of the 7th Technical Brotherhood as they performed a rear guard action in the Battle of Kastorvah pass. While the Imperial Guard was withdrawing to secondary defense lines, the 4 tech marines, their servitors automatons, and substantial supplies of ammunition were air landed by Blood Angel Storm Eagle transporters, each stripped of weapons to increase carrying capacity. Alone without support, they fought a pitched 7 hour battle against the arch enemy before their positions being overrun. Attachment: Painters notes: This summer I came across some very old Evilware forumware sitting in a forgotten package. While these are not the greatest designs in the modern era, they certainly were great for their time and place. I took them out and dusted them off and gave them some attention, even if they're somewhat lacking in details, still a fun little model. |

Attachment: The Xiphon interceptor was the preeminent high-performance aircraft of the Adeptus Astartes. Far too powerful and performant for normal humans, it required constant micro-management by its Astartes pilot to maintain equilibrium in the aircraft due to an engine system that was designed to operate both in the void and a wide variety of atmospheres. While their brothers, the Iron Hands persecuted the ground campaign, the Blood Angels took to the skies for air dominance. Attachment: Painters notes: What can I say? More Blood Angles I guess! Airbrushed VGA Gory Red over black primer. Then a filter of VMA Red and then a pass of AP Pure Red. Lots of black panels (VGC Charcoal and then edges picked out with VGA Cold grey and then VMC Pale Gray on the extreme edges. Brass details because BA mean baroque and then treatments with GW nihilakh oxide for weathering. |

The Vindicator is typically employed as short ranged siege tank used by Astartes in siege scenarios. However the Blood Angels battle doctrine leverages the Vindicator tank as an heavy support assault gun with their air mobile forces, as befitting the chapter's predilections for high intensity assault forces. Stripped down and coupled with the more powerful Lucifer pattern engines allows the Blood Angels to leverage Vindicators in a more aggressive role than typically seen. Often being dropped from orbit in dropships to punch holes through prepared enemy positions. Attachment: Painter's notes: Second verse, same as the first! Great to finally kill off these awesome otterware tanks from yester-year.. |

Special Report collated by Maeister Lukov for Segmentum Command, Kar Duniash An Ongoing Investigation into Events Surrounding the 3rd Saturune Crusade, M38 Addendum 92.7g Information Requested by Tactica Command - Authority Primus Vermillion //> Data Transfer begin+++ Name: Rainbow Warriors, Adeptus Astartes Founding Chapter: Ultramarines (conjecture) Founding: Unknown Chapter Master: Unknown Homeworld: Prism, Segmentum Unknown Fortress-Monastery: Unknown My Lord, after scouring the available data-archives available to Crusade Command, this is the total known information regarding the 4th contingent Chapter, Rainbow Warriors, that presented themselves as suddenly to command. Like most Astartes Chapters, they are aloof however the Rainbow Warriors appear to be as enigmatic as they are effective on the battlefield. All requests to Terra requesting additional data-archive access have so far been rebuffed. Attachment: Painter's Notes: Now here's some really old models. Legit GW EA land speeders in the blister still any everything! Rainbow Warriors are a hard one as anything blue tends to read as Ultras and [insert We Don't Do That Here meme]. Therefore I based using VMA French Blue and then did zenithal passes of VMA Electric blue to lock it in. Transistion of progressively greater amounts of VMA Greyish Blue performed as spot highlights. Finally edge highlights picked out in VMA pale blue to bring up the lightness to a very not Ultras look. I think proceeded to go slowly insane painting in rainbow stripes all over on panels, ailerons, and F-me, even their blasted helmets! Oil washes from Mr Hobby (space magic still) to give them the usual treatment. As my existing speeders had a basing theme of some type of mudflats, I went with something similar to tie them together, envisioning them as flying along a tidal flat. |
