Cheers guys.
While not strictly part of this army, I have got a somewhat related update.

Regimental standard.

This is obviously from the 40k version of this army. There is a thread on the excellent oldhammer forum if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Way too cool. I remember buying that box. Man that was far too many beers ago.

I too have mine still. Painted in that grey/stripey fashion camo, of course. Brilliant minis. Those visor helmets are so cool.

I would bludgeon a hundred cuddly baby seals to have my old school RT guard minis back. :(

Cheers guys. I have offloaded quite a few models over the years that I regret now. My harlequin force is probably my biggest regret, but amazingly I found most of it on eBay a decade later! Money was no object on that auction, believe me!

I haven't updated here for quite a while. It is partly because my hobby progress slowed over the new year period, and partly because I have been focussing on the 40k version of this army. I am making some good progress on that, which you can see by clicking on the link a few posts up, or the blog link in my sig.

But rejoice epic fans. I have more poor quality pics of painted guardsmen for you to see.

Firstly is the completed heavy platoon (which from this point forward shall be known as the "Doom Cats" thanks to the kind donation of some troops from a certain forum member!) that now numbers 5 bases.
Image

And here you can see Sergeant Julius, champion of men and all around nice guy.
Image

And lastly we have the juves, are organised into white platoon.
Image

These guys are the last of my lasgun infantrymen. Some of them have broken lasguns and the like.
I think I have 49 lasgun bases in total, which is plenty.

Their as of yet unnamed commander.
Image

So that's it for now. Another platoon done.
Still to come:
1. Beastmen (about 19 bases I think)
2. Ogryns (4 bases)
3. 3 rapiers (yet to be purchased)
4. Some home made grav attack vehicles.
5. The Legio Ignatum reaver titan Wrathchild

Current schedule should have them done by March, so we will see how that goes.

Thanks for looking.
:)

Thanks Primarch. They are coming along. :)

Just a small update tonight. I painted up the ogryn bases.
Image

I have tried to keep them fairly dark and subdued, consistent with their 40k version.

I decided to give them a yellow platoon badge on a whim. They must be assigned to the command platoon of F co.

So that's that.
I will probably work on the beastmen next. Though the thought of having to do 20 bases is making me do some serious procrastinating!

No worries. Here is what I have done to date.
Image

Image

So on the left are a rough rider unit, sentinels, red platoon, ratlings, and thunderbolts.
Image

In the middle are another rough rider unit, sentinels, ogryns, gold platoon, support platoon, thudd guns, and mole mortars.
Image

On the right flank are the assault platoon (green), conscript platoon (white) and marauders.
Image

And here are some dynamic close ups to set the mood.

So that's it to date.
The grey horde!

Still to go, a beastmen platoon, some grav attack vehicles (Valkyries) for green platoon, and the big fella up the back.

Thanks for looking. :)
