I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. You guys really know how to make a Git feel at home. Thank you for the kind words, it really helps one to stay motivated. The skill level on this forum is over the top and getting praise from the community makes me smile. Too bad I can’t tell Da Boss, he’d juz smack me ead and tell me “GET TA WORK, Ya Uslesss Git!” So thank you. Ummmmmmmm yes, lots of love goes into me work. I dream and hope to play some day, but the reality is I love to build. At the current time I have no games planned, there is nothing I build for other than my own satisfaction (Oh, an Da Boss of course). Soooooo there is no real rush. I’ve never played Epic, but I have plans to one of these days! I really like Epic scale, there is just some fing about it that really attracts me. Besides the reality is I could never own a big Army in 28mm scale. Da misses would skin me and make Da Boss look like a wee squig by the time she was done wif me. So Epic will allow me to own a huge Waagh……………… (an hides it from err) I’m glad you like me treads Blind. I was really happy wif dem. Now if you look close they are full of imperfections, but this is part of the reason I build Orks. The imperfections are ok, and at Epic scale I don’t think it will kill me too bad (me hopes at least, one always has hope). The really cool thing about this hobby is I did it, you know. They are mine and I love dem! In a lot of ways this hobby is about ourselves. I look at things people build and I dream to reach that level of skill. The reality is I’m not there yet, but I’m getting better. We all get better when we do it. Every cut, every build, every drop of paint. So I just compare my work to my last build and look for improvements. Dats the true beauty of the hobby. I just need to do better than I did last time and the rest will eventually take care of its self. So if you’re just starting out, don’t be too hard on yourself. Juz work at doing a little better with each build! Speaking of builds…………….

“Sharp cylindrical elements”, thank you; but I don’t think they are as sharp as they could be. I worry a bit about when it comes time to paint. I worry all of my imperfections are going to stand out and scream at me. We will see, perhaps this is part of the reason why I have not put paint to brush yet. If you’re liking the sharpness of it, perhaps it is because I use plastic card as a base. Then I add SMALL amounts of Green Stuff. I think using less green Stuff is a real secret. Whenever I use too much Green, I pay for it. I truly have learned less is more. Oh and as I said before NEVER be afraid to cut and re-build. It will make you better. Gobliners? Yes, a friend was supposed to send me some to play wif. So I’m waiting. The Defeat in Detail, yes I contributed and am waiting for me stuff to come. I can’t wait to get it and chop it and honor the maker by turning it into some fig else. It looks beautiful as it is, but sometimes I juz can’t help me self! Besides Da Boss likes it dat way! Although while on that thought, the Grot tanks look superb. I want dem in me mits……………… Ok, another long winded post. Sorry no pictures this time. I’ve been wrenching, torching and planning; juz nothing worth showing yet. Thanks again Lads for all of the support!

Ok, I’z back! As usual progress is ever slow. It’s ok though cuz Da Boss has been fly-in around in space putting a hammering on some useless Gits! Da good news is he’s had his boyz collecting Da Scrap so we can builds us more Dakka fer Da Waaagh. Besides it puts Da Big Boss in good space so he tends to stay out of me work shop. Ok enough of me banter I’m pretty sure you want to see some of me goods. Well at least I hope ya do dat is!

Image

So it’s been all about Da Big Wagons fer a bit. I tend to get stuck dat way. Here is a lineup of my current projects. To the far left is Brother Blinds cool “Kill Blasta”. I’m using it for scale reference and as inspiration. It’s a really cool build. To the far right is “Da Grumbla” one of me Gunwagons. Of and da Git standing there is fer scale. Scale is kicking me butt a bit. Am I building too big fer Big Wagons? I’m going to need to build a Gun Fortress or a Battle Wagon soon so I can make sure I’m covering me bases. I’m really not sure where dis all goes, but I juz can’t help me self. I’m building away……………

Image

Here is a better shot of me 2 Big Wagons. “Da Masta Blasta” is on Da left and on da right is “Da Teef Getta”. We had some Freebooter lads sow up awhile back and well it is a great opportunity to pimp dare ride. Me thinks dey is gonna be pretty happy wif “da Teef Getta” when I’z done. Besides dey gots lots of teef ta spend an some nice Imperial grubbins too! They is both still WIP, but I’m liking dem and they is all a coming together me thinks.

Image
Here is a shot of Da ova side of “Da Teef Getta”. I gotz ta put on some more plates (one can never have too many plates me thinks). I needs ta reinforce Da Prow and I went back and doctored up da treads a bit. The press mold came out pretty cool, but I lost too much detail. Soooooooo I had to go back and fix dem. If da Boss got a wiff of dem not right it could be bad fer me. Ok speaking of bad fer me. I added some extra gear wheel wot nots to the real and juz above da treads. I’m not sure if I should keep dem? Da Free Booter Boss sayz they is gonna generate more power fer da ship, but I’m not sure if I like da look. What do you think? A little help would be helpful as I’d like to keep me long beautiful ears intact. Well what’s left of dem any way.

Image

Here is a picture of da rear. Still gotz lotz of work to do, but I’m liking da shape and feel so far. Ummmmmmm der is dem wheels/gears again. I’m not sure if I like dem. The engine is going to get more exhausts (can never have enough smoke makers) and I’m really liking me doors (you can never have to many holes fer da boyz to jump out of, ya know). Da rear of da roof is gonna ta need some fix-in too. Ok that me fer now. Part 2 is reroute.

Ok den, gots some more to show ya.

Image

Here is da ova side of “Da Masta Blasta” I’m planning on building some engine grubbins juz behind da big shootas and some more smoke makers. I added a side jump door and well I think me loves her………………. She needs work, dis is true, but man does she call out too me.

Image

Here is a rear shot. Yep another door (we likes doors) and well she needs work, but I think she is on her way.

Image

I also did some work on “Da Deff Tracta”. I added a hatch, covered me exhausts a bit and made sure I had a good strong strap to hold dem in place. When yer running down Panzies stuff tend to get loose on ya. Da Boss don’t like dat you see. The tread wheels are press molded. I’m debating on going back and cleaning dem up wif some green stuff love. I’m not sure, we will see.

Image

Here is da ova side. I need to add a window juz to da side of da front windows. Needs a clear field of fire so da boyz can find some good targets. I’m working on da big shoota now. The prow plate on the finished model will be more at a angle so hopefully I can display the front attack hatch. Da boyz love charging out from da front ya see ( well at least dem Goff lads dat is) our Blood Axe boys tend to prefer da sides and rear ya see it makes since if ya think about it fer a moment. Good thing Da Boss has a bunch of dem Goff lads fer da forward charging. At da end of da day we don’t need to pay dat clan as much cause der ant many of dem boyz left. Da Boss likes it dat way see! Ok dats me fer now. As always advice, criticism or what not is very helpful and thank you fer taking the time to read and share in my epic madness!

Very impressive. Do you let the GS cure slightly before working it?

Great work! I Love Da Teef Getta (o:

Have you tried varying the putty? Other brands and mixes make better sharp, flat surfaces; green stuff is kinda rubbery, both fresh and cured.

Sweet Squigs!!!! Thank you fer da kind words. It really helps one stay motivated and gives me a reason to post. You are a good group of Gits. Ummmmmm as for cure time I really try to follow a 15 minute rule (I read it somewhere). If I start playing to soon it is difficult as da stuff is too soft/sticky and harder to control. Although it seems of late 20-30 minutes is best. I'm still learning and figuring it out. Varying putty mediums is something I haven't played with as I haven't been exposed to other stuff. Do you have recommendations? Although I'm really itching to try me hand at digital. It's the future me thinks. So a question that no one commented on. I'm contemplating loosing the rear wheel/cog things on the back sides of Da Teef Getta. What do ya think? I thought it was a cool idea, but now I'm second questioning it. Ok, last thing me thinks then I'll shut up. As for paint. Well I'm kind of scared. They look pretty cool all green and what have you. I worry when I throw paint down it will show all of the imperfections or Ill juz mess dem up! I have a break from work coming up in December and then I'll pull out da paints. Thanks again for all of the positive feedback and as always your 2 cents reall helps a git.
