Minor spot of conversion here:
Oh - sorry for the pic quality - I'm no good at taking pics of dark models with my bitty webcam.

Well the model looks great as far as I can tell. Really orky paint job and the xtra "kustom" CC weapon is a really nice touch as well!
Cheers!

Hi!
The pictures got me thinking, how do people make those colorful ork banners?

Hi all, and I promise to get a good digicam asap too...
Primarch, the banners are really easy - I have a load (load = ~ 30 ships; NOT what YOU mean by a load) of Man O'War ships with nice, big sails, and each box came with sets of sails for all the ships of that race, not just the ones in the box - nuff sed! I just paint out the colours I don't like and retain the basic pattern. Another way is to use good scans and prints of banners from GW texts or boxes, as L4 suggested - and I believe it was WMNice who reduced the size to make smaller banners for smaller models, am I right WM?

Absolutely correct I don't know why I haven't finished those SM command stands yet the banners should look really nice on those. For making banners I also suggest using transfers. Paint as much of the banner as you feel up to then add the transfers for stuff like letters and numbers, imperial eagles etc...
Cheers!

Hi!
Hmm, pretty slick. It did not occur to me to make scans...
I wonder if you could get transfers made of those scans?

Yes, my friend and I have converted scanned items to transfers. There is decal paper available for some copiers. I went to a high speed copy store and they did it for me. I'll have to talk to my friend to see how to get the decal paper.

Hi all, this 3rd army (plus antagonist orks) lark is wearing out - I still havn't lost interest! Here's a new addition - still minus a crew though....a Squatarii anti-aircraft gun emplacement, one of the old Thunderfire 3-barrel cannon. This time the base IS attached.

Nice flak gun, "V!"
I like your paint job almost better than mine! ?
And Primarch, I talked to my buddy, he should be e-mailing me the decal info soon.

Quote (primarch @ 11 2004 May,16:43) | Hi!
Let me know L4, where you get it and how its done. I would definitely use that route... ?
Primarch | Micromark sells both transfer paper for the copier and for the laser printer. I have even had luck sending it through a color laser printer.
Go to: http://www.micromark.com/
Click on: Painting, Decalling, Weathering Click on: Decalling Click on: Decal Paper
There you will see both White and Clear for either Laser Printers or Ink Jets. On the second page is a "try it" packs that are not too expensive.
