Hah I love that exploded Freem tank! Stunning conversion work.

Is that air brushed?!  Also great detail work building up the wrecked running gear in the miscast areas

No airbrushing, just starting the base coat and added some simple highlights so detail would be visible.  Calling it a miscast seems harsh; I just saw pure opportunistic luv in this model. ;D

I'm hoping to work out some mapping techniques for 6mm vehicles that aren't too time intensive and this seemed like a perfect test piece.  Burned out vehicles are great fun for learning new stuff.

Calling it a miscast seems harsh;

Ah sorry, id assumed the front end of the tracks had not cast fully and so you converted inside the gap :;):

No Apoc, you are spot on, but it is a perfect miscast!  I couldn't have asked for a better miscast.

Even more superb, I love how you've opened the hatches (which are just solid resin underneath!) and sculpted a dead guy trying to get out.

It kinda makes me sorry that I don't get so many miscasts anymore due to getting my pressure pot to work, seeing something like this. :)

While I wish I sculpted it, the dead guy (Mr. Crispy) is one of the EW Edenite Zombies.  Applications aplenty for that particular Edenite.

Really Great Stuff !!  :agree:  Just beautiful really !!  :agree:   The Charred Crewman in the Valdor and the Valdor itself is very well done !  :ooooo:   I use the new G/W Washes and like them.  :sign1:  But I hear the Army painting system is really supposed to be good ... who makes it ... where can it be had ?

Thanks L4!

Army Painter is extremely pricy for what it is and I think you would be just fine using GW washes.  I'm pretty sure the Warstore carries their products if you are interested.

I think this is about done until I find a place to put this model.  I have some Stalingrad-esque buildings in the works that might be a good fit.  An objective marker is another idea.  In any event, I'm planning on basing it with blown tracks on the ground along with some of the ruptured lower chassis (p-card).  Maybe it needs it's own crater!

My hats off to E&C.  It was pretty easy to work with this piece because of the amazing detail.

Thank you for the advice ... I'll stick with G/W Washes then ...  And yes, that certainly looks like a "right proper" wrecked AFV !  :D

Coven led by an aspiring chump. ;D

Basically, 4 colors+ dip = done. Don't ask how many more units await painting...

Took awhile to dig up my photos to fill in what was lost from the forum crash, so this thread has been dormant. There are a few updated pics I've added as well.

Ratty, I can't wait to see what direction you take with the Plague Tower. :)

It's going to be much fatter than the original one.. it's going to take a long while to do as I've got to build up all the green stuff work.. but it's started now

Lots of excelent ideas here, and awesome realisation to boot. Might borrow some of those ideas (the dead tank crew and the detailed wreck are awesome). Nice job !
