I won't order FW anymore either; absolutely no quality control in process.  I'm not worried about them fixing it on the back-end of the deal, I want it fixed before they ship it.

Shame really as the models are beautiful. In my opinion they are superior to GW's in every way.

I did find something interesting. Looking at my FW Landing Craft I was checking out the Rhinos that came with it. They are exactly like GW's except they're cast SO much better. The grooves and ridges are deeper and well defined.

I had a moment of, "So this is what an Epic GW tank would like if cast properly!" (read like back in the old days   )

QFT. The GW rhino chasis molds are dreadful with bits of excess in all the grooved sections and nothing have a straight edge. Give it up GW and give the mold to FW to do.

By the time of the third replacement shipment in which the Hammerhead bodies were still extremely poor I was told by Forgeworld that I was "...obviously a modeler of very limited skill and that we (Forgeworld) could obviously not meet your exacting standards."  I have been modelling for over 20 years and they had the gall to say that to me!

Seems a tad harsh on FW's part. Reminds me of a thread on Warseer about the FW guy not hanging up the phone correctly afetr he thought the customer had gone and calling him all the names of the day, in particular, a lying thief trying to get free stuff.

If their product is sub standard we as consumers have the law on our side protecting us. Just this morning I rang my mobile company and said my handset was faulty - had a new one in the post immediately. My washing machine broke down and i have an engineer coming out on Friday.

If the service is substandard, do not take it.

That kinda adds to my suspicion that FW send out that stuff because they actually think it's okay.

Any links? :;):

Meself, I think if I get any more FW I'll stick to occassional purchases at shows like Salute.  See the stuff in person.  Although I'd probably have to preorder for them to bring anything Epic...

I can tell you I almost spat my drink all over the computer screen when I read this in the email I was sent.  Sure the guys over thre are only human and can get frustrated by customers sometimes but nothing excuses rudeness like that towards a customer.

I have shown the models to several friends who have been painting and modelling as long as I have and they also said there was nothing they could do to rescue these figures.  It was shocking.  I certainly won't be buying from them myself again.

I piggy-backed some stuff in with JW order.  I must say I was amazed at the complete lack of quality control and the general shiteness of the Tau stuff.  The Imperial stuff I got was ok except for the need to straighten every Earthshaker barrel, but the Firestorms were unsalvageable.  I ended up buying the SG version as well/instead.

Well, I'm always amazed by the fact that they will actually produce anything so fragile that is a Wargame piece ?!??! I was working on my GK Dreads last night. I'm no novice modeller, but while trimming flash I "popped" off a leg !?!?!  :sus: Same happened to a GK Sword !??! :oo:  Easily repaired, but I'm going to put old SM1/2 banner poles on all my GK, Tau & Kroot infantry & walker stands just to make them a little more "survivable" !!  So again ... Who needs G/W & F/W !! :disagree:

I received my replacement order. It was obvious that no-one inspected what they shipped out.

So like I thought to begin with I've gone through combining the replacement kits with what I already have to cobble together a "decent" order.

Some stuff will take a lot of re-carving or green-stuffing, but that's life as a modeler.

What I'm most angry about is the Eldar Firestorms. I now have twelve turrets and not one of them is decent.

Not sure what to do here. I can either A. try to somehow carve some plastic bits for the cannon muzzles, B. try and carve cannon muzzles out of green stuff, or C. order a pack of GW Firestorms and take the turrets off of them and put it on the body of the FW ones.

For anyone thinking about ordering FW Eldar stuff all I have to say is do not order the Fire Storms! Get them through GW proper.

My Falcons and Vampire Hunter are still on back order, and there was some damage done to the parts in-transit, but nothing I couldn't fix.

I had planned on eventually getting an IG army mostly through FW (as I don't care for the SG tanks much) but now there is no-way in hell I will ever order another full army through them.

The most I can see ordering are some Chaos aircraft when I get around to that army. And unfortunately I think Chaos will be my last army for Epic.

Marines, Eldar, and Chaos plus terrain is still a huge undertaking, but I really wanted to collect more armies eventually.

Oh well.   :sigh:

Edit: And I didn't receive my replacement Warhounds, but the guy said it may take longer as he wanted to look into the issue of its mold being damaged.

And to think I just ordered some firestorms last week. Was a toss up between them and some nightwings!

Damn it. Here's hoping.

I feel for your having paid for deficient models and would not be at all happy myself.

The weapons on my own Firestorms were ridiculously thin - litterally paper thin - and you could probably blow hard on them and they'd bend or possiblby break, but they were basically fine; you'd just need to be very careful with them, so I just want to reassure you both they're not all bad, though the recent ones evidently have been and who knows about future ones.

Should anyone have surplus Fire Storm hulls you now have zero use for I could be interested in trading for them if they're in good condition (I have a crazy plan to attempt to convert all the Falcons and Fire Prisms for my one day future Saim-Hann army to be Forge World Mark II style vehicles, I'm obsesive like that).

Probably worth mentioning that my Firestorms were more or less fine. One of them was bent, but with some hot water I was able to straighten it out.

That said, those barrels are so obviously fragile that I have no idea how I'm ever going to transport the things.

Wow, guess I'm the unlucky one when it comes to Firestorms huh? The funny thing is I only needed three out of twelve turrets to be ok.

The others were going to be used as hulls for my Fire Prisms so that they would match the rest of the army. 3 out of 12 is good odds, but I'm 0 for 12..

Has anyone outside the UK received their Forge World Firestorms intact, though? I wonder if the additional stresses of international shipping is too much for them.
