Cheers WMN: i'll see if i can experiment a bit, will be trying to set up a website soon (it's all the rage dontcha know: RE: E&C!)

My defilers needed bases...i didn't have any bases...CD's are the same width as Wamaster bases...i took a ruler, biro and scissors (don't use too much force, be gradual) to some old CD's and look what i got:

Some 40*40mm bases for the defilers and some 20*40mm one's formy demon engines of khorne; just waiting for some undercoat to dry and will have examples how it came out later.

Thats a very cool idea, I'd never even thought of it (have been using washers, but would use plasticard for that job). It would also be a better option then blister plastic when making clear bases.

Ooooo...those are purdy!

What were you going to start with as a sculpting medium?  GS in 6mm gets a bit soft on detail and can be a bugger to work with.

Hey MoK, nice work as ever.

I want to drag you back to your nids. What size coin did you base your gaunts on? I've come into possession of some nids and I think round bases will look better than straight lines.

Are those guns made by tiny mammal hands?

Hey Mephiston; 1 pence pieces for things like biovores, lictors, zpantropes etc, 2pence pieces for everything else, brood creatures, tyrants, Warriors, carnifex.  Larger circles were purchased or cut from card.

Oooh! Look what came through Ryan's post box this week! After these and some (hopefully to arrive soon) infantry have been done it means my nids will have outgrown thier display space shelf and will have to upgrade to the "double" configuration!
More shots as the work continues.

Very cool indeed. And judging by your battle report, you put them to good use immediately. I think I can spot a Broodlord and a Synapse Node in there.

Yep; as many other people have done i've used the old 40k genestealer familiar as a broodlord.
You might also notice that, to blend in with current 40k canon, my Space Marine Era bio titans are holding their weapons 'upside down'!

Now that you say it, and here I was thinking Forgeworld had finally released new Epic Bio-titans :D

Seriously though, I love the old bio-titans, and much prefer them to the sleeker Forgeworld one.

Had an introductory game with a friend who is into Dawn of War, but not the old Epic models. His comment was "spiders with guns". What will they think of next?

Which reminded us of Calvin & Hobbes' "dinosaurs in jets", and I meant to post an image here, but do not know how.

Edit: Apparently, I did.

Upon which much fun and whiskey was had.

Well, whaddya know...one minute you've got a load of slightly effeminate looking Slaneeshi spiders with guns â„¢ on your desktop

and the next it's full of digusting aliens who are GONNA RIP YOUR FACE OFF!!!!

with a large cup of tea of course...
Ah! The joys of wood dye...

One useful note here is that i've found one MUST varnish miniatures if you're using wood dyes' etc; some require watering down with spirits which can make the paint pretty fragile.
