The dreaded double post!
I've not been idle the last few days, oh no. I mentioned that a big project was coming and since most of the parts arrived that's what I've been working on. To start, a few pictures to explain where I'm going -
This shows the Warlord in a scale shot with the Reaver, and shows it's similarities to the Imperial Knight model GW does.

Similar legs, shoulders, chest armour, hips, overall torso and so forth.
I then used this image to judge relative scale -

With the true scale titans floating around, this image seems pretty spot on. Dividing the approximate 28/30mm scale height by 5 to get to Epic dimensions, the Warhound comes out at 1.96" tall and the Reaver at 3.15" tall. This is almost spot on to what the figures actually measure as, give or take a small fraction on an inch. As such I figured the pictured silhouettes were likely to be a good guide, especially with the previous Warlord scale shot. This would put a Warlord at about 4.72" tall.
The GW Imperial Knight however is approx 6" and a bit tall - too big for a Warlord. The Imperator however comes out to 7.08" tall, and once you add on a bunker and some towers...

This fellow comes out to 8" tall overall, thanks to the two chapel-like towers on the top of the bunker. It's close enough for me though, since he looks like an imposing God-like engine of war! The true scale Reaver and Rhino gives a sense of just how massive this guy is, and I'm extremely proud of him!
As you can see he's not quite finished in terms of parts - I'm waiting on a bits order with the two remaining shin guards to construct the remaining leg armour and a Leman Russ plasma cannon is also on the way to make the Annihilator to go on the unfinished arm. There's a bit more smoothing out to do on the join between bunker and carapace, but it's largely finished on that front.
Both arms and the torso are currently unglued to make the big guy easier to paint. It's pretty hard to see in the shot thanks to it all being just primed, but the base does have ruins and Skitarii marching between the legs, since he can transport them. There's a furrow at the back of the base to put a crashed flyer on the base too once that arrives.
With any luck I'll make some good progress on the lower half of this guy in the next few days and I'm really looking forward to seeing this monster coming together!
