About ?3.50 for a tin of nitromors and I did a 93 model IG army for 40k with it.
Although nitromors is dangerous, and you should do it outside with old clothes and rubber gloves on, from what I've seen you will be a lot worse off if you make a mistake with brake fluid! then again, if brake fluid works on plastics...

For me, Nail Polish Remover for metal and Simple Green for plastic, and those work most of the time ...

well, I have to say, an excellent response
the best thing for Metal IS nail varnish remover, sock the figure in it, go to pub, return to have it slipping off the model.
Excellent.

Nail Varnish remover used to have Acetone as an ingrediant. Another solvent which I have access to, due to where I work. Trouble is it evaporates very quickly.

Ah ... guys ... try covering the container with plastic wrap or use a jar with a lid to soak your models ...

Hi!
I used nail polish remover to get off paint once, I can't say I was terribly impressed with the result, but then against the coats on the miniature where real thick.

Brake fluid works well but keep an eye on it when stripping plastics. A couple of hours on metals the clean them up with a light soapy wash.
