Some might consider taking epic on a camping trip sad, I consider it dedicated

:D I can't quite beat that but I am also packing brushes and paint when I go to visit the old folks for the holidays. I was hoping to get some Marine tanks finished...

...Dedicated... yes I'm sure Dedicated is the word! :D  :;):

Cheers!

Wow! Even unfinished the Cobra looks impressive! BTW, that gun is not a Vibrocannon, It's a D-Cannon.  :;):

MONDAY 22/12/2003

Hi all, back to the diary, and a new and completely random direction...
Ok, was loads of busy, during most of the day, and by the 'diary hour' I couldn't undercoat my models outside because of wind/rain (I hate spraying stuff indoors). So I messed about a bit with the big guys.
1 - The Cobra (with it's D-cannon - happy, Mojarn?) - not much, but I applied some filler to the loads of gaps on the underside of the vehicle. Next up should be a bit of cleaning around the gaps and  perhaps some detailing.
2 - The Revenant - uh-oh, here we go again :p : a new project, leaving others standing by.... I obviously raided Slaanesh's stores - I always thought those Slaaneshi war machines had an Eldar look about them. Bonus points for guessing what the rocket pods were.
3 - The Storm Serpent - at least this one is useful, seeing my lack of transports. :L . This was a fun conversion, and I'm trying to find bits for a second. Weapons are a bit of trouble for strom S. no.2 :(

Must rush - pics as usual here on page 2. I also added a pic of my knight/wraithlords, which I found time to clean up a bit from flash.

Cheers

Good boy! Now carry on!

All this converting has made me think of a Falcon "modernisation" project. Pics may be forthcoming if I get that digicam.  }:)

EPIC ELDAR ARMY STATUS REPORT

Complete:
1 stand of Guardians
1 Firewing (=Fireprism)
1 Eldar Knight (=Wraithlord)

Painted, base to be modified:
Avatar and Court (i.e. court to be added to base)

Awaiting painting:
3 Dark Reaper stands

Awaiting undercoat:
1 Farseer stand
7 Guardian stands
2 Firewings (=Fireprism)
1 Firewing Mk.2 (=Fireprism)
2 Warp Hunters (=Fireprism)
2 Eldar Knights (=Wraithlords)

Conversion in progress:
1 Cobra
1 Storm Serpent
1 Revenant

Conversion in concept definition stage:
1 Great Hawk

This list has two purposes - to help anyone reading the diary to keep track of what's happening, and to remind me I need to regroup and finish that 1st Guardian Warhost! A good idea would be to finish off the Guardians, followed by the various Fire Prism-equivalent vehicles and the Cobra as troupes for this warhost. Then start on one of the Aspect Warrior Warhosts, and add the Revenant... with the promise of finishing the Storm Serpent as a continuity carrot.
This is the sensible course of action, and this definition has just made it the least likely to happen... ?:p

Anyone, must go - am trying to work on my research project and the laser is waiting.
Cheers all.

Yep! I'm talking about some creative use of Green Stuff to make the old Adeptus Titanicus era falcon look a bit more like its modern counterpart. Preliminary sketches seem promising but we shall see.  :)

Its definitely dedication, not "sad" at all - At least thats what I keep telling myself......

I have a GW carry case which is full of paints with 24 spare slots to carry my current projects. It goes everywhere with me that I might find 15minutes spare.
I've painted on trains, in traffic Jams, and at Heathrow airport whilst waiting to pick up some friends - its a very useful little case :D

TUESDAY 23/12/2003

Hi all, another weak day: raining hard, so no undercoating today, either. And so I SHOULD have continued the Cobra - but instead got sidetracked by a new conversion. Atempt no. 1 resulted in finding enough bits to build a second Storm Serpent only slightly different from the first - I'll build this in the coming days. Attempt no.2 produced what I'm calling my version of the Great Hawk - the Firehawk. You can see it (unpainted, of course) here, again on page 2. I also added a picture of my three war machines together. Thankfully I'm now running out of war machines to build - and out of bits! I might manage a Scorpion, and a second Serpent. Not much else. You'll notice that my Eldar conversions depend greatly on Epic or 40K Eldar/Dark Eldar bits (and a mercury amalgam capsule... :p ). How many Dark Eldar jetbikes can I afford to scrap?  :( Remember I've got to save for my copy of E-A!

I've got a full-ish day tomorrow, so don't expect too much, but I'll try to post something just the same.
Cheers.

Thanks Primarch, but if ONLY I could concentrate a bit and get some painting done! my rain&undercoat excuse is wearing thin - and I'm wondering how no-one mentioned that my Dark Reapers ARE undercoated and can therefore be painted!
It's always like this when I get the conversion bug
