Really nice work on the scout conversions. I'm glad that more people seem to be putting time into the smaller scales these days. I have far too many memories of discussions with 'those people'* at games who decided it wasn't worth putting more than 10 minutes effort into each stand *sigh*

The Necron are looking quite intimidating too.

* You know the type. The ones who have an opinion on everything and know they're right no matter what you tell them.

@Tri - I tape about 10 of the bases together and drill right through them all. I then use adhesive magnetic bases as the bottoms. No worrying about depth that way.

@freebooter - We don't have too many of those around here. There's a plethora of "Those are so small! How do you paint them!?!?!" ones though.

To them we reply, "With a paint brush."

Heh... Yay for literal answers  :p

There is one gamer in particular who I played back when I was learning how to play Hordes... Completely forgot that his trolls had to stay within command radius of his caster  :glare:
I then made the mistake of trying to learn Battletech from the same bloke. Ah well, lesson learned  :)

Greeting from the great state of Maryland. DS, CaptPiett and I are down for the weekend for some gaming with the the schmoes from Penn and Maryland.

Not a whole lot of product this week, but I'm hoping the quality makes up for the stuff. I worked on 5 missile launcher carrying Cadians. I used the SM/TL heavy weapon guardsmen (sans lascannon) and the E40k missile launcher team (sans team) to make these guys.

Why 5? Well Mosc tells me that it is a good number. I number of power you might say. Feel free to PM me about them to tell me how much you like them.

Next up is an Ork Battlewagon I converted. I used an AM Battlewagon, SM/TL Bonebreaker, some plastic card and Rhino parts to make this guy:

Again, feel free to PM me about how much you like it. I want to see how popular it is.

Hmm, they don't look like Necron or Marines. You're not getting distracted are you?

I really like the missile launchers. Nice simple use of parts to bring the old minis to life.

Not so sure about the battlewagon. I like it, but it doesn't look scrappy enough to be Orky.

The Missile launchers are top notch. I've never liked that hull for a Wagon, it simply has to few gubbinz. I'm currently converting a battlewagon using the water filter method from IA: Masterclass for rivets. They are turning out pretty well, and should add character to this model as well.

Truly inspirational thread so far. Great use of bitz from various ranges, eye candy for the likes of me who just made their first purchases from DRM and Exodus Wars. Eager to see more.

Not distracted, freebooter. I just needed to get them out of way before my trip down to MD.

I'm going to be moving on to painting the Land Raiders this week. I was getting bored with just converting and wanted to feel like I've made some progress. Depending when I finish them (and if I get enough parts) I'm going to try to finish buildings the scouts, along with my objectives, 2 Dreadnoughts and the rest of my characters for the Subjugators in Feb.

First bit of paint for 2010.

I'm probably around 1/2 through with these. I have to do the metal on the other three, wash the metal, highlight with green and then do the bases. I'm hoping they'll be done by next Friday.

And this is another little conversion I've been playing with. An Ork Flakwagon made out of an SM/TL Bonebreaker, Petite Crab turret, plastic card, E40k Imperial cow stabber and an SM/TL Storm Boy. It's not done yet, I still have to putty between the ammo drums and barrels, but it's close. I should be able to make 3 more.

I've got quite a few metal autocannons I can let go for cheap - side conversions like this are quite enjoyable to behold.

Ya, I got 4 of the resiny ones as extras awhile back. Was stumped on how to use them until I put them on an old Bonebreaker hull.

Well not as much progress as I hoped this week. I was away for the weekend and the girlfriend's Valentine's Day present ate into my hobby time throughout the week. I really only had about 3 hours on Monday to paint.

Anyway, here's my progress on the Land Raiders. The center one is almost done, it just needs its headlights and base done. I tried free-handing the door details but didn't like the result. I'm going to try making a decal for them and see if that comes out better.

So barring some decals I want to make for the doors the Land Raiders are done:

I'm hoping to get some work done on some more characters and Dreadnoughts over the weekend, and maybe the Scouts. With any luck they'll be ready for painting on Monday

Good luck with the transfers.
