That looks absolutely great. The weathering is particularly nice. Given that it's blown up here to over twice its size it's particularly impressive. I'd definately do something about the shine around the decal, not because it's bad but because the rest of the job is so good.

Double thumbs up from me!  :agree:  :agree:

Wahou !
Impressive work, the paladins are cool, the medusa is impressive, and the gi's are juste awesome, the scenic base is great (and really stunning for a 20mm square base).

Thanks! I'd love to do something about the decals but I'm at a loss on how to fix or prevent the frosting.

Hell yeah! All decal complainers should report to the nearest political correction officer for motivational speechification. The Paladins are great, as well!

Glad you like it Otterman, thanks again for sending it up. I might have to see about appropriating several more :)

Obviously I'm a decal-shine monster!
I should stress the praise bit again, I think these are super-cool. My decal shine talk is purely intended to be constructive, I want to see epic painting taken to a new level here!

My technique, which works ok, is to lay down a gloss varnish before applying the decal, then another gloss, then matt. Oh, and I'd cut closer to the 'text' of the decal too.

The real pros use microsol and microset but even I'm not that far gone!

Looking forward to seeing more...

Thanks for that tip. I've read that microsol is just white vinegar so I might give that a shot too. I did the gloss varnish method with the paladins and it worked alright, I probably should have done it on the medusa but I was in a hurry. I can't go back and fix it now so I've done a bit more weathering around the decals to hide them some more. It's honestly hardly visible in life. The next ones I'll be taking a bit more time on.

another small update, nearly finished up one of the three hellhounds currently on the plate. I'm debating if this needs anything further given the amount of stuff thats on there already but something is just a little off and I don't know what. Might just be the wretched casts that are these epic armageddon things at times. I have three good e:40k hellhounds and the quality is just so much better.

finished up the first three hellhounds and varnished them. I also got the other three basecoated in preparation for the washes to come later tonight.

Here is the pic of the first three. Next time around I believe I'll use a different light setup and a dark background, but I was a bit lazy tonight :)

well I have another small update. I've finished up the first fire support upgrade. I decided to only put one gun and loader per stand to have a bit more room for other things and to stretch the few of these gunner I got from Miner. After this I have 2 more stands to finish for the secon fire support upgrade and onto some BFG.

Those look good Vaaish. I too use only one gun team for the same reasons. I like the use of terrain to fill the base, very nice.
