I use simple green to strip all my models. Much easier to handle and dispose of.

Agreed!

Anything for striping super glue from plastic minis? I want to re-base some infantry.

Simple green will loosen some glue on metal (super glue usually) but if plastic glue has been used I've normally had to cut the mini free.

Oh bugger! I have literally thousands of stands...  :(  ah well.

What the hairy heck is simple green?!  Some sort of washing liquid perhaps?!..

From before and after this looks to me a little better but I still haven't got it yet. Still to use the GW wash. I'll use that next.

Nothing wrong with them, looking good.

Simple green is a household cleaner. You can get it on-line or in stores in the US.

They're looking really nice now Warphead!  Maybe they look worse in person or something?

Simple Green is only available in the US.  I think their website actually said they won't or can't sell it elsewhere.

Thanks fella's...  :D

(I suffer from terminal self doubt. I call it a personal affectation... it makes it sound cooler, well maybe not.)

I used the GW Wash (Black.) It is easier to use and shows up better than the old stuff I was using. I'm now off to order a bucket load.

I also got a GW pin vice. What a waist of money. The bloody, bleedin' *#!8&?# doesn't even grip the drill. I've cleaned the threads and everything. Taken it to bits, changed it around and put it all back and still the thing is no good. One cheeky email on it's way to GW.

That batch looks loads better :) keep it up you're improving! The next thing you can do is pick out different details with boltgun and do a light highlight drybrush over the treads and tank itself.

The pin vice should have at least 4 heads stored in it if its like other companies. None fit?

Oh and never strip models until you have finished the rest. Badly painted is better than metal!

Fixed the #*&?#?* thing. Stuffed loads of blue tack down the vices fitting in the handle and muscled the #@?&#*?% in. Works a treat now! No none of the drills fitted. No Tyranid model is safe now... (Ok it's a clunky fix only an Ork would be proud of but it bloody works) :D

Good point. But handy info to know when I need to strip paint of old crappy stuff.

Vaaish + L4, thanks guys.  :D   I've just finished washing the rest of the Hellhounds and a battery of Deathstrikes and Basilisks. Plenty of practice.

I've bought Simple Green off the shelf of the local hardware store here in Australia.

It's not a U.S. only thing (thank goodness).
