My friend will play Salamanders, so it is flames for decoration.

Two mornings getting up around 04:00 (the wonders of a 5 month old boy...) :)
+ kid falls asleep again in 15-20 min
+ father (me) cannot fall back asleep any more
+ a pack of oven baked clay (FIMO)
+ a pack of dentist tools

RESULT:

Thanks!

It is a bit too big, but will be perfect for a spore chimney or something similar. Will try to have it copied and also I plan to do smaller ones too.

How did you do the texturing on the tentacle?

Hi Todderman! The texturing was partly done by randomly stabbing into the clay with the sculpting tool, but then I switched to using the spiky tyranid tail bump.

It is based on one half (bottom) of the Directorate Overseer Class Carrier from Firestorm Armada

http://shop.spartangames.co.uk/ProductD ... ode=FATD05

The top part might become an abattoir but might be too small for that.

In december the local small epic community will have a huuuuge display table at the annual tabletop convention. 2 normal size epic battlefileds put together.

most likely a beach landing battle like Normandy. Imperium assaulting the orks + other bad guys. or the other way. ;D

For that we need loads of terrain, not just ruined buildings. I started creating a prometheum refinery and huuuge modular pipeline system. Perhaps the pipes are a bit too big, but this was the smallest size in the local Obi.

In the meantime the support colums have sand and basecoat.

Have now around 2 metres of pipes + distribution station + refinery (currently drying)

The pipes are modular, so I can join any number of them without glue. The support colums are also not fixed.

Love it. And in no way are those too big. Remember in Necropolis, the 3rd Gaunt's Ghosts book, the hive shield wall is breached through a promethium pipe that Leman Russ tanks drove through! :)

you just gave me an idea. In the big battle in December infantry only formations could use the pipeline to move around undisturbed/unseen by overwatch units and hidden from airstrikes.

Have to make some special rules for this.

More pictures today...
